She was going so fast at one point that her back legs couldn't keep up. She "fell" on her butt, got back up and started running again. After a chat, we continued on our walk. We came across a house where two guys were coming out. Belle announced her presence as usual and the one guy was scared of her! In return, Belle plopped herself down and refused to move until the other one petted her. What a great day! |

That's great... at least you know she is still having days where she feels good |
That's fabulous! What a great surprise that must have been for you! I agree...what a great day! |
They never cease to amaze us sometimes, do they?? That's great that Belle felt good enough to push herself!
Drez did that last week out in our yard. She hopped like she used to, wanting to get to the dogs next door over the fence. My daughter held her back, and by the time she came in the house, she was limping BIG time. But I was proud of her for wanting to try! If only we could read their minds. . . Chris |
Awesome!!!!
Yeah Belle! |
How cool! Run Belle run! |
Yay for Belle! |
Way to go Belle!!!! |
AWWWW that's great to hear about Belle's burst of energy!! You go girl!!!!
Marianne and the boys |
Glad to hear that Belle had a good day. Isn't it amazing how these guys are just like our kids!! Sometimes I think I worry about my fur kids as much as my skin kids. |
For a girl with heart trouble, Belle seems to have the biggest heart around. And you too Jil, your heart is enormous--it would have to be to live with the constant ups and downs of Belle's health. |
Thanks all. I've told Belle how everyone here is rooting for her and she wagged her stumpy little tail extra hard!
That run took a lot out of her, just as I expected, but she's moving around the house more, showing more interest in rooms other than the living room. Someone here said that it can take a rescue a year to believe that they are in their forever home and I believe that. I also believe that the trip to the Philly picnic worried her and that she was glad to come home. If that makes any sense. J |
Yeah Belle! Even though she tired herself, it's reassuring to see the burst of energy. She's not giving in to her ailments. |
Way to go Belle!!!! |
Horay for Belle. There's life in the old girl yet. Wouldn't it be great if we uprights could be as brave and optimistic as our furbabies? I wish I could. |
Jil!!!! that is so wonderful! This is another one of those moments, where I just want to jump up and down with excitement! Bell Bell sends kitty kisses, and has done a mach 5 circle around the apartment in Belle's honor!

Way to go Belle |
Last night she ventured into the bedroom and SLEPT there!
Okay, it was in the doorway, but still. I know all this sounds a bit ridiculous, but it's so heartwarming to see these little improvements. Maybe I should shut up, I might jinx it! |
Jil,
This is wonderful!! As the weather turns a little cooler, that might help Belle. She is such a good girl. I know that your a great Mom to her and Kayli. Beau just spent his first night outside of the crate. He did really well. Nothing was touched and I got to sleep until 6:00 a.m. |
