Not sure on paint colors yet. I want to hang Sheepie paintings on the walls. I'm even thinking a little sitting/relaxation area. I have a cedar chest I thought I could put under the window with nice cushions to sit on. I have a nice wicker furniture set outside, come fall I need a place to store it. So I thought I could use that as my relaxation area. I would like to hear from all of you experienced groomers out there. What other things will make the room ideal. I can't wait to stop using the grooming table as a storage area Lisa Frankie and Mattie |

I was thinking about my future house and the "dog room" for grooming and whatnot, and I'm thinking orange walls with a big sheepie painted on the wall! |
After changing the garage around, I've found I'm actualling grooming more often and spending more time at it. This may be the best thing an OES owner can do - have permanent area to groom. And knowing Lisa, Frankie and Mattie will look even better all the time! Post photos of what you do so maybe others will be inspired. Vance |
I converted the "playroom" into my grooming room several years ago. It's a catch all room anyway - used to be the kids playroom, and now the name is stuck! The desktop computer is there, I converted the closet to my sewing room...and there are still toys in there for the grandkids! Facing the work area - The grooming table is away from the wall now, and turned the other direction. And turned around 180 degrees at the computer and awards - And the bookcase I keep my show catalogues, training guides etc in: |
Sounds like you have a really good plan going! One thing that has really made my grooming area nice--is the storage cart for all the grooming tools--spray bottles etc. I ordered it from Pet Edge and it was a great addition and keeps everything organized and right by the table. They come in a few different colors too. One other thing that has been a great addition--my hair stylist gave me a great rolling stool when he replaced several in his shop. I can't sit down for the whole grooming session but to work on feet and face it has been great! |

And an expen mounted to the wall for drying the dogs aftet bathing? Nope, not good enough to fulfill the "dream". Me wants what me wants. Right now I have an antique cast-iron claw foot tub with recirculating bather, hot and cold running water and a drain. Not a bad setup but requires some bending. If I drag one more item of dog-related equipment or supplies in the house, I may find all of my belongings on the front lawn! |
