We've been to one place: Pigeon Lake...it was okay except the beach was very rocky. But the site was clean, and bathrooms were also okay...showers could be better. This year we want to see what else is available. Anybody been to these places: 1) Aspen Beach 2) Miquelon Lake 3) Ma-Me-O Beach...camp at Whispering Spruce Any thing you liked or hated about these places. I grew up in SK, where I went we had beautiful beaches and clean clear water, the campsites were beautiful. The sand could rival a tropical beach. If it's still like that, the lake is Kimball Lake...MeadowLake Provincial Park. |

Miquelon campsite is okay. I haven't been there for a while. Pigeon lake I think is still the best around here. There is the provincial camp site and ziener campground. Have you tried sylvan lake? Alberta Beach is nice to but I don't know if they have a camp ground or not.
You could also try Wabumum lake or lake Isle. We have a cabin at lake Isle and the lake is clean. ALso Mink lake is suppose to be nice. Take care |
Thanks, we decided to go back to Pigeon Lake. We like it for "camping", the beach is rocky and the worst for this flying bug....bigger than a misquito but not a horsefly...annoying.
We then took a drive to Aspen Beach, and I cancelled our reservation...smelled bad, the beach has water pools on (possibly from all the rain, but now has algae/slime on it). The sites are too far from the beach. Anyways I was not impressed at all. We've been to AB beach, Wababmum...I suppose it's fine for a quick day trip...but not nice enough for me. I am use to a much higher standard in lakes, and beaches where I grew up in SK. But it is so far away to go, so far Pigeon is it as a all around pkg place. We are going to a lake in SK, but one I've only been to once and we "hope" is still a nice place to go. I will have to check out some of the other names you mentioned. Thanks for the names. |
