Dexter's a First Defensive Fight
During this morning's walk a young woman approached them from the opposite direction jogging with a "dingo looking" dog on a leash. The other dog jerked loose from the woman and continued to run straight for my wife and dogs. Dex got into full defense mode and met him full force and raised up on his hind legs sounding very ferocious and no nonsense. Our dogs were on leash and my wife was able to pull them back. The entire time Dex continued to loudly let the dog know what would happen if he came close again. Winston was cheer leading and barking like crazy. The woman didn't know what to do, kept apologizing but didn't do anything toward her dog. My wife told her to get her dog's leash and keep going. She did and our gang continued their walk. Dex was proud of himself for defending his pack and Winston was even more filled with hero worship for his big brother. Dex likes other dogs but he sensed a threat in the way the other dog ran to them. I think he did very good especially how he responded to my wife calling him off and remaining alert. |
