Do I use the normal oil that came with my clippers? Do I need a different oil since the clippers came with a set of steel blades? When I was at PetSmart, I saw a spray can of Cooloing Spray that touting itself as a cooling/lubricating spray - is this something that I should get, for $10? Keep in mind that the clippers get used primarily for feet and sanitary locations so they're not on very long at a time. However, I usually clip down Zoey twice a year, so twice a year they get a serious workout. One a side note, when I was swapping out the blades, it was this very moment that I noticed that the blades had a pretty cool quick-release feature that I never noticed before. I had always nearly completetly disassembled the business end to remove the blades to clean and oil them. Any real-world suggestions for me? Vance |

You can use the same oil. Skip the cooling spray. It only gunks up the blades. I find the ceramic might stay a tad bit cooler longer but they don't hold an edge as long as the steel blades. |
use the same sort of oil. clean as usual. the difference with ceramic is that they run cooler, stay sharper BUT if you drop the blade they will break easily. if you like the ceramic you can just buy the top plate and convert any blade of any size ive never used them, i went to buy some from a grooming company and they talked me out of it! |
