It's frustrating finding things for big dogs. I want to physically see things I buy and look it over. But all you find is items for "little" dogs everywhere you go. Are we the only ones that have "big" dogs? |
maybe these people can help. http://www.thebigdogsworld.com/Nylon-Ca ... rness.aspx |
Already tried this one. I am just soooooooooo Frustrated! Maybe with some of the VERY TALENTED people on this forum, on could be designed for the bigger dogs (hint hint hint) The step in harness is like stepping into a pair of pants and bringing it up to snap. It's terribl big dogs are discriminated against this way. Anyway, I might try to grab the tag off of one to see if they have a website. |
ok, i asked some mastiff people. http://www.premier.com/View.aspx?page=d ... escription http://store.softouchconcepts.com/ http://www.wiggleswagswhiskers.com/index.html |
Thanks for the info. Still not what I'm looking for. I did find one on whitedogbone.com but it only goes to 42". I did send an e-mail to them to see if they can get the same step in in a 44-45" then can adjust down as needed. Other types have the clip togethers either across the bellie or under the arm. Don't want that type. Just down the street from where I work is a place called, Lulu and Luigis. It's kind of a 'high brow' dog boutique and spendy. I want to know what is available. It isn't that Oliver is a 'puller' I don't want to control him from the neck. Yes, Oliver is a BIG BOY but he is loosing weight, 7lbs already. I keep telling him how handsome he is and how svelt he's looking. |
One like this? http://www.gollygear.com/clothharness.html If it's the type you like - our local Pet Expo store in Mkto carries them. I can call tonight and see how big they have them. I have one for Riley - when we did flyball classes. Nice harnesses. |
Dawn, that would be GREAT!!!!!!! I can't believe these step in harnesses are not unavailabe for big dogs. If you can find one for about 46'' let me know. Thanks Dawn. Nancy |
Hi, Bloo has a perfect fit harness http://dog-games-shop.co.uk/ The perfect fir harnesses come in 3 parts, so you buy each part (top, girth and front) for the size of your dog. Bloo has a medium top, large girth and large front. Heres the perfect fit ones http://dog-games-shop.co.uk/perfect-fit ... og-harness They are quite expensive and i dont know if they do over sea shipping, but its worth a look |
I ran into a dead end here too. I called Mel, who does the dog dept. ordering for the store. She looked in her supply catalogues - Dabo Doo makes them up to 36". They order from Coastal - and their largest step in is 38". Maybe Oliver needs to wait and get one as a celebration for his weight loss?? |
Thanks for all the help. I even googled giant breed xxl-xxxl harnesses. Not much luck. I even calle PetSmart headquarters in Phoenix, Az. Nothing is available BUT they will submitt the suggestion. Big dogs should not be left out. I wonder if I could figure out how to make one |
Mel said that some manufacturers don't make them really large because there is too much play in the harness if made really large in this style...that they aren't safe as dogs can easily get out of them. |
