The times we have had this thread, the Dyson wins... I've never had a Dyson clog up. I decided to go cheaper and get a Shark. Everyone was getting it and has a better review (happy customers) than all the Dyson reviews. Oh my suck.... It works great .......just no where near the Dyson. I am forever hating my decision and use my broken Dyson still when the cleaning is super important ...like when guests are coming (hose is cut in half from using it sooooooooo much). |
We have a bissel, it works fine for us but the canister fills up really quickly due to all the fur. |
Hoovers clogged for me. Oreck would tear through the belts when the dog hair wound around the brush bar. I use the Dyson upright and love it. I hate the "wand" part as it is awkward, tho super-suction. For "dusting" I use my Rainbow water vac. Not as good as Dyson on the carpets, but better (for me) for other jobs. |
Love my Eureka The Boss. I've also gone back to a vacuum with a bag. I had several different brands of bagless and I just hated them. I always needed to vacuum AFTER I emptied the canister - lots of dust poofing up. And I hated breathing it. What good is a vacuum with a HEPA filter, if you have to breathe it when you dump it?? |
we have a miele cat and dog |
Sorry if that was a much repeated question-I hadn't seen it and just wondered. We found the dyson was good when just emptied but by the time I had done 1 room(carpets) it hardly picked up and had to constantly wash filters,so went back to a bag type. We have an old house with lots on "nooks and cranys" so an upright is not worth having-my sister swears by one for her labs hair.x |
we have a HOOVER Hurricane light. Its an upright though. Mom used to have a pull around one, the ones that you dont have to push that has the nozzles on the ends... To be honest Bloo doesnt shed or malt. We have cream carpets and they have no hair on them at all. What we have trouble with is the cat peeing behind the sofa, so mom is investing in a vax carpet washer lol |
I rarely wash the Dyson filters and I live in the country with open windows. As for emptying the Dyson, I go outside to the trash can and direct deposit. If I have to do it inside, I do it into a garbage bag, close quickly. |
We have an upright bissel, I bought it because all of the pet hair in our house killed my Hoover and it is easy to take apart and up clog if necessary. We haven't had to do this but that's what the online reviews promised. It has a power brush attatchment for the hose that works amazingly on couches etc (we have a long haired cat). The Bissel works best when the filter is cleaned frequently, which is a pain because it takes a day or two to dry completely. I am a clean freak so I like to use it often The biggest shedder by far is my Ragdoll/Persian mix cat, oh the hair, hair balls and hair. He doesn't tolerate slicker brushes or the Furmanator we bought for him so it's all up to the vacuum to keep up. |
