If it's gentian violet (which it sounds like - purple and used in ear formulas)...it is a stain and will gradually fade and/or grow out. |
Yes, I was thinking gentian violet as well ...and that's a permanent stain. Be patient. It will wear off as the skin naturally shed it's outer layers. You might notice some change with a dab of detergent and vinegar or detergent and rubbing alcohol. Rinse well of course. Having just fought an ear infection, I'm not sure I'd bother but just enjoy the Mod look for a bit. |
Oh I absolutley agree! Who cares about a little staining of the ear flap as long as the infection is gone |
Ditto ear infection subsiding, gentian violet yep purple staining, it will fade and grow out over time. Great treatment from your vet, side affect purple ear flaps but one can live with that |
Gentian Violet is awesome stuff. I used it when I was nursing my children and we all got thrush. If you think purple ear flaps are bad, try purple boobs and purple faces, lol. But hey, it really WORKS! |
Hmm. Purple Boobs. I think there may have been a Star Trek episode where... huh? what? I'm sorry, I dozed off there for a sec and -- did I say anything? I seem to be grinning a lot now. |
