Making Maggie pretty

I really don't know much about grooming, and normally I just send Maggie to the groomer. But I want to make her look nice before her visits, and I have a couple questions:
1) I bought some shampoo today and I haven't used it yet, but do you guys know of anything to help get the green out of her hair?
2) I also bought a conditioner/detangler because the pool is really drying out her fur and then she starts matting. Other than daily brushing, anything to help with the dryness and matting?
3) How should I brush her fur to make her fluffier?

I know the main problem is just that she's going in the pool, but she loves it and it makes her happy, so I don't mind some extra work.

Thanks!

CORN STARCH & BABY POWDER

When were kids and in the pool all the time my blonde brothers hair was always green no solution there. I use a product from Chris Christensen called Ice on Ice it is a detangler that works pretty good, cowboy magic has been reccommended and I look fprward to trying it, but the absolute best thing I have ever used and that I consistantly continue to use is corn starch yep plain old cornstarch you have some in the cabinet right now.

I use it on them when they are damp (almost dry) and when they are completly dry. I mix it with 25 to 50 % baby powder, the johnsons smells the best to me.

The greenness, check your chlorine level it may be to low the green may be algie growing in her hair. Just a guess.
Thanks for the suggestion!
There are products for folks who swim alot to remove the "green." Stop by a beauty supply store or some larger retailers .......it's to remove chlorine or other minerals such as from well water. Do they work? Well, back when I was getting permanents the beauticians would giggle as they rolled my hair, "Your hair is dripping green today." When I started coloring my hair I had to give up on permanents. I swim so that's 2 chemical baths, pool and color. A permanet would cause my hair to fall out  hmmmm... wigs?
It sounds silly, but get her wet with regular olf hose water before she gets in the pool, and if you're feeling really motivated, hit her with a little spray on conditioner and kind of pull it through her hair. The hose water will fill up the hair shaft and block a lot of the chlorine from getting in there first to turn her green, the conditioner also acts as a sealant.

Redken also makes a good after pool shampoo but I don't know the name of it off hand. It's for humans but would likely still work.

You know, I've heard that about hosing them off first. I tried to the other day, but alas, I was unsuccessful. Apparently running hose water means jump in the pool as fast as you can! But I'll try it again.
