Bad diarrhea for too long could spell dehydration. I'd be calling a vet soon. Vance |
Have you tried boiled chop meat and rice? It works here if bogey has a spell. Yes go to vet |
I would suggest deworming, and pro biotics. Can't hurt. |
If you've fasted him for 24 hours with only water, then brought him back on rice first and then rice and cooked meat....like turkey......and the squirts continue, you may have more at stake and need vet's help. Be sure you detail what you've gone to this point, how long faster, how long on rice, how long on rice and meat. You can give Imodium but I'd talk to vet first, some don't think it's right for dogs. Once improvement seen, try adding probiotics to meals. |
You don't say how long you have him. I think a few days of diarrea is worth a trip to the vet. abd bring a stool sample if you can. Maybe giardia or some other parasite. Hope he feels better soon.. |
I agree, get him in to the vet, George had a bad stomach like this and we thought it was food and turned out he had a stomach bug for months. It's finally gone but it had ruined the lining of his stomach so we have to be careful and he was on probiotics for a while. Get him in, and talk to your vet. Squirts aren't nice for you or Packer!!! I know. And it's so nice when your happy dog finally sends something solid out |
