Fromm! Both the adult and puppy! |
Have either of your dogs ever had a full blown skin break-out? Mine are now....we think it might be high protein dog food....they are fed Natures Variety Instinct...chicken. |
We feed both of ours Purina ProPlan Lamb & Rice as per our breeder and mentor's recommendation. They seem to love it and we've not had any skin or coat issues. Vance |
Yep, Fromm's here too! Fromm's gold large breed puppy. Bailey, my Aussie, is on Blue Buffalo grain free for her allergies. Her allergies are from crummy ingredients (we think it's a grain allergy since the grain free helped a lot, but it could be something else.) Both Fromm's and Blue Buffalo have good ingredients in them, and the protein levels are not too high. You could try either of those and see if it helps your dog's skin trouble any. An all over breakout seems like an allergy thing to me. Or if the dog had a bath recently, it's possible that not all the shampoo got rinsed off and its irritating the skin. |
James Wellbeloved junior large kibble and will go on to Trophy chicken and veg. We werre on ProPlan from the breeder and I wonder if we would have been better to stay on it as Sprocket has scratched since changing him but I have opposition as to what he is fed on,am waiting to see how he is when on the Trophy only as mixing it with JWL at the moment untill what is left in the sack has gone-poor love is scratching like mad at the moment-not a flee or mite issue as been checked by vet.x |
We may have had a tummy issue from James Wellbeloved - we changed to Royal Canin and it got better and now George is on royal canin sensitive. |
Summer used to be on james wellbeloved but then had a sensitive tum. A year or so ago I changed her to Green Dog, but that is so hard to get. She is now on Barking Heads large dog and touch wood OK.... |
ProPlan. I've had good results with both the Lamb & Rice formula as well as the Sensitive Skin & Stomach formula. Been feeding it for years to several dogs. |
Good question!! I think we're about to make another dog food switch ...for the ...20th? time... If my dog didn't have the itchies.. I'd be okay with any of the brands mentioned above. |
No skin, coat, or tummy issues with either doggie on Fromm or Blue Buffalo Wilderness, which is what I fed before. |
It does seem that OES have trouble with poultry? I never had any problems with previous dogs, always Turkey+rice JWB until along came Sprocket!! Chatting to my "man who brings the food" he suggested their salmon meal ( Trophy ) had for a couple of days and deff less scratching and poos perfect-what more could I want?x |
Holistic Select kibble served here, switching around to various flavors of the same brand. http://holisticselect.com/ |
Nutro lamb and rice puppy..then switch to Nutro lamb and rice large breed |
My dogs are allergic to everything (or seems like it) until we started feeding them Merrick's no grain Bison, all of their skin and ear allergies went away. They sell Merrick at Petco now. |
Right now I'm feeding the girls Science Diet Grain Free. I like to change their food periodically and none seem to have any tummy issues. Violet and China are Seniors and Asia is a middlun. |
Izzie and Tayloe get a raw diet. So far, so good. Clean teeth, tiny poop and clean ears |
