They don't launch till next month! Ask yourself a question, what will you be using it for? |
Personally, I feel like anything a tablet can do, a laptop does better. I've never heard of the one you mentioned, but if you're set on a tablet, try to stick with a well-known brand. They are usually better and last longer. |
I have a 2 laptops & 2 home PC. As I travel a lot due to work and go to dog shows as well sit in the hospital for hrs at a time when Lori has her MS visit. I thought it might be a good idea to have one and they are lighter than a laptop also Lori could use it as she finds it hard holding a latop |
In that case, go for it! Just don't get an iPad, I used one many times before and it just seems so useless. They wanted us to do school projects on it, I don't know how they expected us to do that though as it was totally not suited for it. I don't feel like it's worth the money for what you get. I would recommend any tablet made by HP, Acer, or Samsung. I have always heard good things about their tablets, and I own Hp and Acer laptops and a Samsung phone and all of them work great. I've heard a lot about the Samsung galaxy tab, I hear it's pretty snazzy. You could check reviews for yourself though, I don't own a tablet myself, so I can't really advise you much more than that. |
I'd wait for the new Microsoft Surface tablet. There will be 2 versions of the Surface: an ARM version that is your typical weak tablet, and an Intel processor version that's as powerful as a regular computer and can do anything a regular computer can do. Plus it has that cool keyboard built into the cover. |
Thanks for the advice everyone |
Have you considered the Galaxy Nexus 7? |
Shows how dim I am,thought was a dog pill when first started to read this thread!! Not been in the computor world long.x |
My husband has a 10" Galaxy tablet that he loves. The Surface tablet looks interesting and I wish we had waited on my husband's tablet. My laptop has a touch screen and solid state drive(goes from off to completely open in 28 seconds, including login). A tablet just doesn't give me the options I need in programs or storage. It travels everywhere with me, along with my camera. The weight difference doesn't offset the performance. |
Mark how big is the screen also I might have some good news. We are hoping to get a puupy from Colin & Pauline & if turns out like Archie I would be so happy. You can see that Georgi & Archie are related but not on the cat thing |
Parwaz, Here's some info & specs straight from Microsoft. http://www.microsoft.com/surface/en/us/default.aspx http://www.microsoft.com/global/surface ... csheet.pdf It has a 10.6 inch screen. The Surface Pro is the model with the full blown Intel processor in it. |
What ever devices try playing with some first. In the UK somewhere like CarPhoneWarehouse would be a good place to see the various tablets and see if they fit the bill (mentioned them as they stock the Google Nexus 7) Can't entertain the Idea of Surface at the moment in UK no Launch Date and Pro version likely to be £1500+ At the end of the day What do you want to do on a new device. No point paying for functionality you are unlikely to benefit from. |
