A couple weeks ago Dex and I went out for the evening's last time and went to the side yard, between garages that has an iron gate to the front. Dex was looking for the perfect spot to pee and suddenly froze, staring out the gate. He let out a low, menacing growl, took a step then gave a soft, muffled woof. I looked out the gate and there was a doe looking back at Dex. She seemed confused, it sort of looked like a dog and almost sounded like a dog but didn't go nuts barking. Dex walked to the gate and she took a step closer. They contemplated each other a little then the doe got bored and walked about 20 feet away. Looked back and Dex woofed again. She stood a little longer then simply walked off. The next night we went out about the same time and she was back but this time had a fawn with her. Same scenario as the night before. Now Dex wants to go out every night about 30 minutes after Winston goes to bed, walks straight to the gate and looks for deer. He hasn't seen any more but keeps checking. |

Sounds like he made a new friend Just beware that Deer do carry the tick that cause Lyme's...and other things... |
How sweet. |
Winston found them a couple nights ago so now both of them waste several trips outside to check on deer. Winston is young enough that we don't take a chance when he says he wants to go out. |
