Charlie, a year old Cocker, and Mats play a game of run and herd and dodge. Charlie has a much tighter turning radius. Cayenne, a pointer, and Mats play a game with a leash, tugging and running and running and running. Gus, who used to be very shy around other dogs and people, has become a friendly fellow and part of the group. Dr Chow, a rescued Chow Chow, may become an irregular member. Mats is often the greeter, wiggling his tiny tail in a blur of welcome. Mats was first to make friends (sniffing, then lying down together in a big patch of clover) with Dr Chow. Bebe, a cat, comes and stays in a kitty stroller. Bebe generally gets a sniff from everyone when she arrives. Izzy's (Isabella, a golden) dad has gotten Mats to semi-fetch. Mats will run after one of his friends doing a fetch -- the running after appears to be the most fun. It's a semi-fetch -- another dog will get the ring, give it to Mats, and Mats will bring it to someplace reasonably near Izzy's dad for a treat. Sometimes reasonably near means 30 feet. Our previous sheepies didn't fetch, either. After all the running and sniffing and fetching, Mats always takes a nap. |

What a lovely description of happy times. I like that the cat in the kitty stroller is part of your play date. |
