Oh jeeze, I assume spooked by fireworks? I hope they find her, I know I wouldn't sleep or work or do anything but be frantically looking if I lost a pup. |
sad |
aweee... that makes me sad when there are pics like that. Hope they find that cutie!! |
Hope they can find her soon in this Texas heat it could be bad FAST!!! |
Omg! I would be a mess! Let's hope they find her quickly! |
Even more heartbreaking when you see all their ads. You can tell they adore her. http://austin.craigslist.org/pet/3121095720.html http://austin.craigslist.org/laf/3116861226.html http://austin.craigslist.org/laf/3119579163.html http://austin.craigslist.org/pet/3116848107.html http://austin.craigslist.org/pet/3115646846.html Hoping someone will bring her safely back home. |

This update was on Craigslist... http://austin.craigslist.org/pet/3125305685.html Quote: ****Lost Old English Sheepdog is out by the Green Belt STILL***** (Mopac and Bee Caves) Date: 2012-07-07, 7:39PM CDT Reply to: gw8j2-3125305685@comm.craigslist.org Otilie the Old English Sheepdog was seen today by a good Samaritan at the offices on mopac and Bee Caves. She got scared and ran back into the woods behind there. Keep an eye out for her as she is coming out for water when people aren't around. She is VERY skittish right now. Please call with any information about her whereabouts. We are encouraged that she is ok, just needs to be found by someone she trusts. Thanks so much 512-415-6632 |
Good news, but if this was MY dog, I would be in the car so fast heading there it would make your head spin!! "Please call with any information about her whereabouts"??? Are you kidding me?? She's by the offices on Mopac and Bee Caves!! "We are encouraged that she is ok, just needs to be found by someone she trusts." Again - are you kidding me?? YOU are who she trusts! GO TO HER NOW!! I hope someone gets to this baby soon! |
You and me both, Chris! |
Chris, While the following clip is from a comedy, I think it best illustrates what most of us are thinking when we read the owner's update. (And just so it's clear, I don't think this is a laughing matter. Those owners need to get out and find their dog.) PS: The following is not safe for work or kids. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwZBMH3VOfI |
"DATS A FACT JACK" i mean mark. |
Some people just don't deserve to be dog owners, and I'm thinking this guy may be one of those. She's coming out for water when no one's around? How does he know this? And what about food? Makes my blood boil. If we have any members in the Austin area, PLEASE go find this baby and turn her in to rescue! And give them the Craigslist paper trail to explain why. |
She's been found! http://austin.craigslist.org/pet/3125917095.html http://austin.craigslist.org/laf/3125914101.html Quote: ****Otilie is FOUND!*** (thank you so much to everyone who helped) Date: 2012-07-08, 9:09AM CDT Reply to: gdngb-3125917095@comm.craigslist.org Craigslist WORKS! Someone's tip about where she was hiding brought Otilie back to us. We left her kennel and treats, toys, food, and water along with a couple shirts and she was there waiting for us this morning. Thank you for yall's support that led to this happy ending! Otilie is FOUND! (thank you everyone for your kind words) Date: 2012-07-08, 9:07AM CDT Reply to: rfmkf-3125914101@comm.craigslist.org Someone tipped us off where Otilie was seen and had run away. She had seen a craigslist post showing that our dog was missing. Otilie wouldn't even come to us during the day so we left her crate, our shirts, her food, water, and treats at the location over night. Guess who was patiently waiting for us the following more. Very bashful and COVERED in burs. We are so thankful for everyone who helped look for our baby. Don't loose hope if your dog runs away. It took 6 days to find Otilie and could have very well taken much longer had someone not called us. |
Thank God!! Still wonder why she wouldn't go to them during the day, though. Interesting . . . |
So glad ...what a scary week for that pup |
Just shows dont jump so fast to conclusions. The owner did everything they could. My great dane got out once and was so scared by traffic and not knowing where she was that she wouldnt even come to me. I was very lucky to get her in my car she was so scared. But once I got her home and back in our yard she was ok. And she never left the yard again after that unless she was with us. Sometimes when dogs are frighten they wont even go to the ones who love and take care of them. It was smart thinking on their part to put her kennel and their shirts out in the area. Glad she is home safe where she belongs. |
Just love happy endings! |
So happy she was found!!! Losing my babies in this way and never knowing would be my absolute worst nightmare! |

Ouch- that's a bit harsh.. Dont be quick to judge -- they not only posted once but four times. I'd be concerned if they sat there and type up a lengthy post. You could tell that they were frantic. I can think of a multitude of excuses why they couldnt be available during the day-- but who knows, maybe they were there during the day looking for their dog but was unable to find him. I had a friend who lost her year old greyhound by a blown gate and spotted her in the woods but he wouldnt come to her, was scared of the environment. It took three people to finally rescue him. We probably will never know the reason but important the dog is home, safe and sound. |

We also never leave them in the car (when it's cool and safe to do so). We just don't. I realize most other dog owners do, and that's fine, I'm not judging anyone and wont think badly of anyone. |
So glad she is home and safe, poor puppy! |
