| From Jane: The dog in question A0954119 at Riverside shelter on Van Buren was adopted by a volunteer from OES Rescue of Southern California, Inc. on Saturday. The dogs actual date for adoption was Friday but the shelter had nearby workmen cut some power and all cable lines for computers to the shelter at 7 AM. No dogs were adopted or spay/neuters done for hours because the computers were down. By 2 PM they felt no adoptions would take place. And our volunteer left after the shelter said they would hold the dog for us until Saturday since our volunteer was there at 11 AM. (Cable and power started working at 3 PM) Our volunteer was there at 11 AM on Saturday, June 23 and “purchased” the dog. He is to be neutered next week and we will get him then. I personally was not the volunteer as I needed to drive to Los Banos, in mid-California to pick up another OES rescue from a shelter. There is a very short window of time for shelter dogs and we have to set pick-ups from shelters very quickly. If you are interested in volunteering for rescue shelter pick-ups on short notice, please tell us your area and availability.
