Forgot to say - the photos are at: http://photos.oes.org - scroll down to the Antics section, and then on to the NEOESR Picnic 2005 area. Please feel free to add more if you've got them. My photos are getting pretty lonely up there by themselves! ~Katie. |
Hi Katie,
Give my regards to handsome Dudley! Thanks for posting those photos so I can become green with envy at all the fun that must have gone on. Ohhh I'm so jealous and would love to one day attend!! Everytime I see Dudley and his cart it makes me smile. Do you use it often? Are you able to ride it around your neighborhood or is it too cumbersome? I once viewed a bicycle for humans/dogs that I thought was quite funky and reminds me of your cart. The dog was attached to what resembled a side car to the bike...can be modified for one dog or two on either side. Always thought it would be great for Merlin, Panda and I. Marianne |
Hi Marianne! The cart weighs 25 lb. and goes easily in most places, provided that Dudley is willing to pull. We can go around my neighbourhood, but because of traffic, I prefer to take him carting around the bike trails at my local state park. We go 2-4 times a week, and drive between 2 and 5 miles at a time. Duds has gotten up to 20 mph pulling his cart. (there's a little speedometer that tells us how fast and the distance) We gave some rides at the Red Woof, and we drove around a little bit at the picnic. It got real hot, though - it's not good to make them work when it gets in the low 80s. I made a little handout about carting that I can email to you if you want. ~Katie. |
