What do you mean tables aren't for laying on?

Just hanging out on the coffee table, no big deal.

Good for showing off what a cute dog I am...

I think you need a bigger coffee table.

When I bought a new couch and matching chair......the big oversize chairs that were popular...ah 20? years ago I also got the oversize footstool. Shane, a Great Pyr thought it an ideal spot for napping. How he curled himself onto that cushioned stool, I don't know, but from day one it was HIS. He preferred I tucked it to the side of the chair so I could reach over and pet him.

Your table dancer is exactly why to this day I don't have a coffee table. Any one of the sheepdogs would have considered it their stage.......such clowns.

We have a great big chair like that too, with the footstool. If your footstool is the same size as ours, then he must have really curled up to fit! Bailey fits pretty well on ours, she's smaller though. Both our dogs like to lay there, and on the chair, and on the recliner, and on both the couches, and pretty much everywhere! Bailey likes to curl up on the footstool, then Eevee lays on the chair by her. Or they'll both try to fit in the recliner at the same time, which is funny. They have to fight the cats for the recliner though.
Bad enough uprights vie for the recliner but in your house it's cats and dogs! Fortunately my gang are afraid of the recliners.

MO liked the footstool as her private bed too....we called it her throne. But age and arthritis have prevented her from jumping/climbing more than about 12 inches.

I've given the dogs the couch. Removed the cushions, bought a 4" thick foam pad for the base, covered all with blankets and sheets. Company coming, off comes the blankets etc, pad on go the cushions.
