While Max was feeling poorly last week, the only thing he would eat was Hill - a/d canned food. As he has gotten better, and his appetite has returned, I've been mixing a little bit with his normal kibble, to get him back to regular eating habits. Today, I decided to only give him kibble, with a tsp. of cottage cheese. This USED to be his favorite. Not so much now. He looked at me today like, " I don't THINK so" when I sat his food bowl down. Turned up his nose and walked away. So now he's pouting... won't give me kisses-- just turns his head. Should I call his bluff? Will he eat when he gets hungry? Give in to his demands??? I took up the bowl with the cottage cheese, because of obvious contamination reasons, and replaced it with just kibble in the bowl. I never know what to do in situations like this. When I was growing up on the farm, all of our dogs ate table scraps... |

The little stinker. yep, he's playing the game very well. You can always put a dab of the canned stuff and cottage cheese and slowly remove the canned. How about a tuna sandwich for you and he gets the drainings out of the can? |
I say whatever you and Max work out is probably just fine.... |
Hopefully the issue has been resolved by now but I would have let him get hungry enough and he would have fallen in love with kibble+cottage cheese all over again. |
