Well, the Bug Off Garlic was NOT a hit. My dogs wouldn';t eat their food with it sprinkled on it and even after I spent time putting the garlic granules into capsuls, they wouldn't take it willingly. When they finally did, well, my male, threw it up And then wouldn't eat his food looking for the "poison" he knew was in there! So, anyone have any other natural preventatives to use???? |

I read that garlic is bad for dogs somewhere, onion too of course. So that may have something to do with their not wanting anything to do with it. I don't have any alternative ideas for you though, sorry ): |
There are a number of holistic ways to go. You can take a lemon rind and boil it down in water to an oil. You can keep a spray bottle and spray the dogs. You can also go to a holistic store and get some Lavendar oil, and citrus oil and dilute down for a spray bottle. you can keep on a colar around the neck. If the dog is a pet and neutered you can also add pennyroyal oil but do NOT use it around human or dog's pregnant! |
Garlic is not good for dogs. The newspaper vet here is constantly warning about it.....cumulative effect. Of course people write in "I use garlic on my dogs" and the vet continues with "cumulative" the larger the dog the longer it will take for negative effects to show up...it destroys their blood. |
