RVing Anyone?

Really thinking of gettting an RV. Maybe a 30 foot or so...But I'm afraid I will find it difficult to drive. Just to get off the Island, I have to get through the City and over bridges, etc. need some input from those who have....Do you enjoy it? What size do you have? How is it to drive? Can you go lots of places with the dogs?

We have RVd all my life it seems. My parents have a 33 ft. Rv now, but they started with a mini when I was a kid and got bigger over the years. They really are not hard to drive. When I was 16 I drove their 30 ft rv across Death Valley pulling a car behind it. Those are some twist and turns there on cliffs. 8O Mom was a bit nervous but my dad knew I could do it.

My husband and I have a 33 ft travel trailer we pull with our truck, again really not hard to drive. Our dogs go EVERYWHERE with us. RV parks are dog friendly as are state parks.

Main thing is making sure your dogs dont bark the whole time you are away from your RV. Mine pretty much sleep.

It is a great way to travel and see the country. Ive always loved it and so do my kids now.
We used to. We had a pop-up 1st, then a small Class C (about 25 feet I'd guess). It was easy to drive - I took it on a couple "girls" trips and pulled a trailer behind it too.

Now we are back to tenting, as Todd "borrowed" the engine out of the RV to put in his car....his '63 Ford Galaxy he is restoring!!
They make some wonderful "Class B" RV's too - the Rialta comes to mind immediately. Driving one of those really isn't any different than driving a big van. But they are sooooo swank.

Our trip across the country with our Jakester in our RV.

They are big but driving forward is absolutely no problem the thing just follows along behind you. Backing and parking takes some amount of practice. If you're a nervous driver, get a class B (Van style) or C (small moving truck style).
With the van style you can go absolutely anywhere.

I'd be Happie to answer any other questions. :D
I forget now but I think it was a class C we were looking at. Sort of a cab over truck back type thing...With a queen bed in back...Hubby is not thrilled with the idea but still working on him. I HATE to fly and I won't leave my dogs so its either the RV or staying home!!!!

Plan to look some more over the weekend and will come back with my questions...
