I can't just let her out the back sliding glass door when she needs to potty and stand and watch her from in the warm. That would be too easy. This morning it was quite nippy and I was just out of the shower, dressed but not in anything warm. It was after breakfast so I knew Tiggy would need to poop before I went to work. I asked her and she went to the door so I let her out and stood right inside the glass to watch her. The back courtyard must be a whole 15 feet long at most. She wandered out, checked behind my large urns, looked at the tops of the fences for birds, stuck her head in the kennel that never gets used in case interlopers were hiding there and came back to the door. I decided to brave the elements and went out and said "do you need to poop" then walked a whole 5 feet from the back door. "Oh yeah I forgot but now that you're out here with me and have reminded me, yes I DO need to poop Mom!" Sheesh no wonder when it's dh's job to supervise the pottying we frequently have accidents. He puts her out then goes and has a shower. Lets her back in and says she didn't need to poop. Silly sheepie. |

LOL, yes, that is distractable! She's a crazy girl for sure. I'm awaiting the day I can let all mine out and then shower, like I used too....pre-Bond days! ...digging holes, instigating play that results in 2 OES rolling in the mulch....egads... |
MO has always been that way. Figure she needs someone to either hold her paw or verify the results. |
We dont call Syd and tigs "Cousins in Paws" for nothing. Must run in the family Syd is so much like tiggy, oooooh there is a plane flying over, woo hoo a birdie in the sky or yard, sniff sniff sniff where's that rascally possum been in my yard overnight, daaaah who is behind the fence must be those little yapper fur neighbours again. Ah Hum Syd What are we outside for Oh yeah MA potty time Meanwhile like you friggin cold waiting waiting waiting for the brain cells to click in as to why we ventured outside early in the morning in the freezing cold At least babette is out and in, in a flash so she definately missed out on that easily distracted dum dum gene. |
i swear it's in the genes!!! OOOO! look there goes a flutterby! oh good sniff over there.........BARK BARK the neighbor is out back........... BARK BARK gotta let they coyotes know I'm here and i wont put up with them........... oh HI MOM, i'm here up the stairs........."did you go potty????" Uh oh forgot about that! back down the stiars......... off to the OTHER side of the house and sniff iris and others flowers. Geeshe.......... |
--yep happens here too! |
Same here. Bark Bark let her out and she looks around the garden and goes back in. Let Sherwood out he goes through one door & goes back through the other. So between both of them no wee or poo. So I have to push them out lock the dorrs & stand there until they do there stuff. Sherwood is clever as he wants in the warm house so he knows wee & poo = house. Well Madam will play bounce sniff and sod all . so let her in and 2 hrs later I want to go out now |
Happens here too, pretty soon he's running back to the door because it finally dawned on him why he went out in the first place. |
