I am really getting concerned about all these recalls With all the dogs here I am worried if they would get sick. OMG imagine the vet bills. I am really thinking of feeding raw. I actually went out and bought a bunch of chicken necks (on sale) legs and thighs attached 88 cents a lb, tripe. chicken hearts, ox tails, ground beef (frozen ) chicken wings all on sale . I have them frozen while I am going thru the crazies about this. I want to finish the dog food I have because no one is sick and then start I went to the leerburg site but still feel I have no clus?? Who raw feeds here that could help me???The meat that I bought we could eat if I decide I cannot do it. I think when I do this it will be cold turkey (no I did not get any turkey) |
We feed raw 3 days per week on the weekends. Used to do 7 days per week until I was hospitalized. Energy levels made weekend raw feeding the most doable. Will be getting back into 7 days though sometime. It is really a pretty simple process once you get into the swing of things. The leg/thigh combo is a perfect starting point--not so much the necks and wings. Too small for your big guys. There are a number of websites re raw food and another forum that I frequent has a huge amount of information and a large number of raw feeders for information and they will make you feel very welcome. PM me if you want the website. Not certain if this forum allows cross referencing to another dog website. Probably the only negative is that it is a bit more time consuming. Big positive is that the poop will easily be 1/2 less in total output. Once you get started and a few months into it you likely will feel a tinge of guilt should you happen to feed a kibble meal. |
