At first she simply picked them off the stairs and wall, then she started her in flight snapping abilities. She must have eaten a couple dozen of them in a five minute time span. I couldn't drag her away from the stairwell where they were hanging out. Wondering if I'm going to be awakened to beetle puking puppy ugh kristine |

Bailey once caught a bee and ate it. She catches bugs all the time, it's fun for her. She's never puked from it before. Watching dogs catch bugs is fun. My cat Rufus catches them too, but Bailey puts him to shame with her bug catching skills. Lol. |
Just wait until June Bug season... With seven cats, we rarely see any kind of bugs in the house for more than a few seconds. Zoey's never been into anything smaller than a squirrel. Caity will chase anything but the cats are far more maneuverable. Vance |
Those sound like June bugs. Ick. |
June Bugs give me the serious willies. I HATE THEM. I will put up with just about any number of crazy nasty bugs, but not June Bugs. UGH. |
Yuck! My older kills flies. She's a little ninja, snaps them right out of the air like a frog. In the fall, when crickets start jumping into the pool, she o so gently "rescues" them from the pool, only as soon as they dry off and try to hop away, she mauls them to death. Haha. Ramsey found a big ant the other day. We saw it at the same time, he got to it first. Chewed it for awhile too, I was definitely freaked out, haha. |
Sounds like June bugs, Kristine! They have been out here for several weeks. I HATE them - they are the only insect that creeps me out. As a kid I had them land on my skin and grab on to me w/ those pincers they have and not let go. Now I'm scarred forever!! The screaming, irrational kind of fear Oh god, I would be so horrified if Bond ate them and then puked them back up..... |
Sounds about right (June bugs) and they creep me out too - they get into EVERYTHING! How did I end up with a dead one in my jean pocket??? No puking so far. And no June bugs so far tonight. Probably because we have a bit of wind. They certainly don't seem smart enough to realize that hanging around my door results in instant decimation. Ick. The nice thing is that at least if one is able to make it's way inside it doesn't get far. But did I mention ICK? Kristine |
The really gross part is walking under a light. They are everywhere. Flying, sitting on the ground and crunching underfoot, crawling on the walls...ick |
I also hate June bugs! Probably because my sixth grade teacher told us all how her childhood friend was locked out of her house in the summer and June bugs flew in her EARS!! I've been terrified ever since. Millie also loves to eat them and just last week left one on the sofa for me. She had eaten all the insides and left me the shell. I picked it up thinking it was a bit of food......I think the whole neighborhood heard me scream when I figured it out. |
I hate June bugs too! When I lived in Indiana, we had a pond in front of our house, so if the porch light was on, there would be soooooo many bugs of all kinds, and June bugs, it was so gross and they creeper me out. I didn't go outside much during bug seasons. I couldn't open my window without little bugs coming through the screen! We've only had a couple bugs here, a spider and some ladybugs. Jacob thinks that's pretty bad lol, hr should have tried living at my old house! I won't spray for bugs or anything unless they get to be a problem, I don't like the chemicals and whatnot. Besides, Bailey will catch bugs for me! |
It's a hard days night, darn it I thought you were gonna say she is a Beatles fan. Not a " beetle juice " one Mine chase blowies and occassionally catch one in the warmer weather. Tell her to listen to a CD of the beatles rather then chase beetles Or hire the beettle juice movie DVD for madam to watch |
Does anyone remember Monica's Tillie playing with that cicada at Sheepiepalooza last year? I think there's a video of it somewhere. I don't think she ate it, but she certainly tortured it for a while. |
