Macy - usually my steady, dependable one - was in lala land, she appears to think she's pregnant again (not! ) but she managed to get her first MXJ leg. She already has her AX. I will spay her before her next season so we can focus on her agility career - I have my puppy girls from her, and Dawn has her boy. Today, however, was Sybil's day to shine. I've felt her coming along, the connection that's developing between us. Incredible. So proud of both of them, more so because I BRED them. I know there aren't many of you, but for the breeders among us, you know what I'm talking about. Kristine |

Congrats Our dogs are our art.... but so much more complex than a painting or figurine etc.... living, breathing, loving, thinking (*usually LOL) creatures we've brought into this world often after generations of selections... it's an amazing feeling |
Congrats to sister Sybil from brother Chewie!!! ...who is glad that you had a hand in creating him as well...... |

And yes, as wonderful a feeling as having that connection and fun in the ring is, knowing that you played a part in the creation of those amazing creatures just makes those moments all the more precious. Congrats to you both! That's awesome! Cindy |
I can only hope my backyard breed boy will achieve such success. Bravo to ALL of you! |
Simon's Mom wrote: I can only hope my backyard breed boy will achieve such success. Bravo to ALL of you! Oh, Simon will do great. Agility is the great equalizer - it's the performance that matters, not where the dog came from That said, as Stacey, Marilyn and Linda Z understand, there's still something very special about a dog (or dogs) who owes its existence on this planet to your own blood, sweat and tears (worry, planning, hard work, etc etc) doing well at something you love. It will never diminish anything that Simon and you accomplish, and I will never, ever breed strictly with agility in mind (because the ideal agility dog is far from the ideal OES ) But you nonetheless have this brief moment of realizing that all of you research, you second-guessing yourself, maybe going out a limb while everyone around you sits back in horror <g> sometimes shows you that going with your "gut" - in part, perhaps ? the artistic element that Stacey refers to, to some extent - standing by what you believe to be important, is...not a bad thing Breeding dogs is damn hard. The most difficult thing I've ever done. I was no less proud of Belle or even Mad's accomplishments. But knowing I bred these girls..it just takes it to a different level. Kristine |
You have a right to be very proud of your girls and boys. I am proud of Butchy too, he's not special in the oes world but he is to me and he's quite smart...........too smart at times/ |
