Things to hold bra straps in place?

Back in the olden days, you could buy little strips of material that had snaps at one end, and the other end you sewed into your blouses. Then you hooked the material around your bra strap and snapped it so your bra strap didn't slip.

I need these! Anyone know what they are called?

Duct tape...

Vance
   Vance and it comes clear now too!

I have no recolection of those strap holders.....I was a safety pin person.

Now they have The Strapper, etc. Afterall, who knows how to sew these days?
I remember those but I don't know what they are called. I would check a fabric store or even like a Kohls bra department. Also, you might try a larger Walgreens. Of course, you would have to ask somebody over 40 who knows what they are. Maybe you could make them by using some thin ribbon and snapsThose gizmos aren'tanymore than that. Vance's suggestion of duct tape will also work or even that paper surgical bandage tape. I've sued that for hems and it stays well. :)
Dogmom got me wondering, are you talking about snap tape? http://www.joann.com/dritz-white-cotton-tape-snaps-size-4-0-12yd/prd34399/
There were ads on TV over the last couple of years for a little clip of some sort that held your two straps together in the back. Don't recall what they were called. I'll google it. :D
Would these help?
Thanks Ron, but that's not what I'm looking for. I think it's a "girl thing!"

A kind poster sent me instructions on how to make my own. It's along the same lines of what Susan posted.
 Embarrasing when they fall down...
How about a crop bra or sports bra? They are uncomfortable but they stay on. I dont know what the clips are your speaking of, but in the mean time how about a double sided sticky tape or a small dart pin?
Hope you get it sorted soon xx
Are you thinking of the piece of fabric (like bias tape) that was attached to underside of a sleeveless top/dress. Basically you wrap it under/around the lingerie straps and attach the loose end back to the underside of the top/dress?

Shoulder strap guards - close, but not exactly what I meant.

I made some out of embroidry thread, with a loop as a buttonhole.
Sorry I read this & had a laugh to myself. I do like Vance's idea in duck tape :clappurple:
Maybe the size of your undies is wrong? Changing that would be easier than trying to rig up something complicated and unnecessary. :lmt:
Or changing style......used to have trouble too until I changed brand. Now as for slip straps......ah, there's still a problem.
It took me 5 hours to figure it out and do it, but I did it! Now I could do it in 10 minutes. I cut a piece of 1/4" ribbon the length from the inside neclline to the shoulder. Sewed on end to the shoulder seam, and on the other end, sewed the female part of a snap. I sewed the male end of the snap to the inside neckline. Put the top on, put the bra straps under the ribbon, snapped it shut, and no more falling down straps. I thought I would lose my mind figuring it out, but it was so simple.

Home business??? :lmt:
Don't the dress or top have straps ?
Lori, the blouse has sleeves, but the neckline is bateau, which means the neckline is cut closer to the shoulder. So my bra strap is closer to my neck than the neckline, and the bra strap shows.

Like the first picture (upper left) here: http://www.neimanmarcus.com/deep-neck-tee-th.html
Look up www.straptrap.co.uk .These are what you need.,you just stitch them in .

:wag:
I have an awfull prob with both straps constanly sliding down. Have broken both collar bones now due to sidecar racing accidents in the past and bras seem to have wider apart straps that sit nicely untill I move and then just slip down. When jive dancing most of my dresses are halter neck to stop that problem but in general I use 2 small safty pins. My kids learnt to sew at an early age (boys as well) as I hate sewing so 'tis always a saftey pin for me. I am a constant knitter,my sister is the sewer, worked well when we lived closer!!x
Now there's new straps that already has pins on them :) is called StrapN'Guard pin straps. These work great. You can find many styles pin straps on amazon.
Dritz shoulder strap guards - can buy online at JoAnne's.
Or more specifically
"Dritz shoulder strap guards with (safety) pins." Can buy online from Joanne's. Google that and it will bring up pix of them. I used to buy them at Joanne's itself, but haven't seen them there in a long time. I just bought more myself.

Shoulder strap guards
Looks like there are several good options here. The ones from the UK look easy to sew in. I have the same problem with the straps showing at the neck of ALL my shirts. I guess I am narrow in the shoulder area. Funny cause I'm not narrow anywhere else!
