I'm sorry I don't have any good advice other than to keep him on leash when not in a secured area and bring in a trainer to help you begin to desensitize him. Had he attended any training classes before now? Just wondering if he behaved similarly or if he might not have had enough positive dog-dog socialization up to this point. Talk with the breeder too... they may have some insight on the behavior. Good luck to you both. |
He is one of 7 dogs (one is an older OES I rescued) so he has been around dogs. He is from a family that just breeds because they can and I think they may have taken him too early from his mother. We have a very good trainer close to where I live so I'll give him a call. I have ALWAYS wanted an OES (that darn Please Don't Eat the Daisies movie) and I don't want to give up on him. He is so adorable! |
There maybe a trigger your not seeing. This is what I have been working on with my fearful foster. He was to scared to even be in the same room with new people and now, in a matter of a week n 1/2, is coming up and sniffing new people and even playing with a couple!! Its called bat training. Its supposed to work with aggressive dogs too. http://functionalrewards.com/ |
What is bat training and how do I do it? |
Well the link I gave you should help explain it. You can also see if there are any bat trainers in your area. Google is also a great tool to use. Here is anouther link http://ahimsadogtraining.com/blog/bat/ and a video |
