Other than the excess sugar and cavities......if you brush after meals. Now if I could get mine to chew Altoids............ |
Hm, okay. Thanks. I'll start brushing her teeth whenever I give her the candy canes. I'm sure she's going to love that... Hah. |
Actually the chicken flavored toothpaste is a great help. Teeth brushing is a learning process for both human and dog. Just need to do the outer part of the teeth. Start with a finger toothbrush, it may be all you need. No human toothpaste for dogs! |
I've never brushed any of my dog's teeth myself. I'll pick up some chicken toothpaste for them and a finger toothbrush next time I'm out, then. Thank you for the advice |
Dexter loves peanut butter flavored toothpaste. He sits and lets my wife brush his teeth and doesn't try to eat the toothbrush. She will start with Winston this weekend. I can almost guarantee he will try to eat the toothbrush! |
or her finger! It's a learning period. Friend has to brush her 2 OES' teeth every night before bed......the dogs follow her into the bathroom and wait until she finishes her own teeth and then stand there, waiting for their turn. |

Our first sheepdog LOVED peppermint candy as well. My dad got him started on it. Everytime Quincy saw "Grandpa", he got Starlight Mints or Peppermint Lifesavers. Peppermint is good for the tummy. Laurie and Oscar |
