Brick has what looks like a sty on the edge of the left lower eye lid. I noticed it yesterday and it looks the same today. Doesn't seem to be bothering him. I'll try to get a picture of it. |

Hmm..I don't know. But I would think it might be an infection or allergy? Hope brick feels better! I would sugggest if you touch it, to wipe yourhands in case it is something contagious... |
I don't see why not. Eyes, bacteria, etc. There is follicular conjunctivitis, inflam of small follicles in the conjunctival sac, looks like tiny red granuals. Glacier had it. No real cure, they can cauterize them but they seem to come back. Then just plain conjunctivits, inflam of the tissues, can be due to distemper, foreign body in the eye, other eye diseases, allergies, etc. I'd wash his eye with a clean cloth and warm water twice or three times a day. The vet might recommend some eye drops or eye goop for the eye, but right now treat with the warm water and watch carefully. |
We had something like that with one of ours. It turned out to be a tiny little tumor in a tear duct (or something like that). It was easily removed and the vet said it couldn't really spread anywhere. It looked just like a sty. |
It's actually fairly common in OES. Nelson had a small growth removed from one eyelid and a clogged duct on the other eye. It wasn't even noticeable until the opthalmologist saw both at his last CERF exam. They were removed but some some vets don't like to do this unless they are causing excessive eye-watering or actually scratch the eye. |
Kelsey had one, brie I have just discovered one on the lid she is nearly 10. At the moment bathing it in a solution of salt and warm water and it seems to be going down. On her lower left eye lid rim. Yes like humans they can get the same thing a Sty. |
