Ive never missed a session, even when im sick or cant walk! Trainer says she admires me, and she talks to people about me. Shes so proud, the first few weeks bloo wouldnt interact with anything, it took at least 7 weeks to get him into it.She said most adult owners would have given up by now, but i have determination to never give up! And bloo is showing the hard work... hes loving it! I cant get him out the tunnels! Not sure whether he will take to the show ring with him being an obidience/agility work dog...but im going to try him showing too. Im so proud of how far bloos come in agility, hes getting better than all the others!!! Maybe crufts is in thd future.... |

Good for you Sam!! Persistence really does pay off! Most people do quit before they have time to see the results they have worked for! Give Bloo a big hug! |
That is great Sam! You should be so proud of yourself. I wish we had agility training near us - I think Peyton (my teen) would like it too...and it's good exercise along with bonding for both human and pup it seems. |
You are very inspiring, Sam! And Bloo too, of course! |
Way to go Sam and Bloo!!! Feels great to see things start to fall into place, huh. Vance |
Isn't it great when you start to see all the work you put into it and things start to click. I think someone caught the bug. We started out just for fun and shazam, look where we are now. |
that's great!! Keep working together. It takes awhile for them to learn.........how to learn. And you need to learn.....how to teach. Sounds like Team Bloo is coming right along. |
Good job! Learning a new skill and working as a team is a process. And the good news is, this ability will translate to other stuff you 2 want to do as well....never a waste! |
Great work Sam and Bloo. Keep it up, it sounds like you are starting to see the rewards of all your hard work. |
Thanks I remember them first 2 weeks, bloo wasnt paying any attention he kept pulling off to the other dogs. I must admit....i really wanted to show the trainer what he can do going out around the 2 cones, but when she said take him off the lead my heart was thudding! BUT He was really focused and the cones were quite far apart he went round in and out both 3 tims!! Not once did he even take any notice of the 2 other dogs! At one point i was going to stop going because i thought, this is embarrasing hes never gonna do this, but i stuck with it and its paid off! Im soo pleased, the trainer said that for next week work on his stay, i said he cn do that! LOL Im well ahead! Go TEAM BLOO!!! We are allowed to play off lead for a while each week now, as the trainer was shocked to see how good he was! He did it better that any of the other dogs, and i didnt even have to use the toy just hand signals!!! Sooo happy. Its only taken 3 months! - It takes him long time to learn, but once hes learnt it he does it perfectly. Im not rushing him, he will learmn at his own ppace WAHOO!! |
Well done Sam & Bloo |

When I first started training Sybil, and she was not even my first agility dog, she was quick to learn the equipment, but anything beyond that, she was so awful - attention span of a drunk, autistic gnat, the most unforgiving dog I had ever met - I thought for sure the instructor was going to ask us to leave and, please, please, never come back. Instead she was very encouraging, always found the bright side of whatever shenanigans we came up with THAT week kept pushing us, kept telling us we could do this, till I finally started believing it, and once I believed it, Sybil started believing it too. Last year Sybil was the top agility OES in the US. Go Team Bloo, indead Keep up the good work. Persistance does indeed pay off. Doesn't mean you'll never face any more tough challenges. It's how you face them that matters. You're already on the right track. Keep us posted. Kristine |
