Okay - so I wouldn't mind a little piece of the pie too I am looking online, but if anyone has any real time experience or advice I would love it! |

I was taught to design Old School, before computers. So I had a hard time using the landscape software. I was not a CAD child. I had a few systems for playing around. 3D did OK and gave me some good info on future growth as I always wanted to put too many plants in a plan. I liked the elevation pixs too. Took awhile to learn the programs as I wasn't "born with a computer in my hand". Generally I was about as fast with hand drawing as the computer programs but not with elevations......pictures of how it looked. I knew designers who used the software and their plans weren't as nice as mine, but they could knock them out faster. I can see the benefit especially if you are putting in paving stones.....hand drawing those takes time. For what you want to do, they should be fine as they help someone not in the biz to visualize. They are fun to play with. |
I used a product many moons ago called 3D Landscape Design, or something similar. They had a suite of (well, at least 2) "3D" products for design around the home; Kitchen, Landscape. They were dirt cheap, worked marginally well. |
I'm lucky and have had either MicroStation or AutoCAD for the last twelve years. While neither one is really suited for the artsy rendering side of things, they both do great for the hardcore architectural style layouts. Look on e-bay as someone may be selling an older version with a key that is legal to buy and install. Vance |
Ooohh....good idea! |
Well that stinks. My husband bought me one a few years ago that was very expensive... but I never used it and am way too busy to sell it and everything here has to go...so I threw it away (since we're moving) Tues. I would have gladly shipped! |
