I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced something like this and if so, what was the outcome? |

Well, it could be he has eaten something sharp and punctured his intestine, could be worms, could be a number of things. |
Jill, Panda had that too and the vet told me that it was some type of doggie colitis..The vet put Panda on some type of meds (sulfa???) and it cleared up in about a week...the vet did say only dog food!!! Panda has a very sensitive stomach Too bad shes not sensitive about nipping you!! |
That wasn't colitis, that was coccidiosis if it was treated with a sulfa drug, very common in pups, and can be deadly if left untreated. It usually only shows symtoms in puppies, or if an adult dog becomes stressed or ill with something else. |
Thanks willowsprite.....close though ...thank God Im not a doctor |
Technically though, colitis is just a word to describe inflammation of the colon. Which of course, coccidiosis would cause... |
It could also be something he ate that was too greasy. We had that problem before, and it was because I let the dog eat our bacon scraps after breakfast...freaked me right out...$60 later I learned not to feed bacon or anything greasy to the dog again
Hope it isn't serious, and it is always better to air on the cautious side. Let us know how it goes. |
My dog had blood in her stools and it turned out to be hook worm, that is easily treatable. Hope all is well. |
