After our 10 days of bonding and limited travel, we started daily walks. We live across the street from a park. There are 2 day care centers, several play areas, picnic tables, baseball fields, and big grassy areas. I stopped counting at 150 folks and probably 40 dogs in the first 5 weeks. The coolest thing is how Mats tunes into new people, especially toddlers when he just stands still and waits for the toddler to approach. Part of his walk is to check on his flock at the play structure to make sure everyone is happy and safe. The park maintenance staff have occasionally given him dog biscuits. One of our postal folks really likes him. My next door neighbor children like him so much, their dad said, "We don't have to get a dog. We can just use yours." He has several doggie friends, mostly smaller, but 2 (a BRT and a Pyr) are much larger. |

Sounds like he is well socialized. Good job! Think of all the things he will be able to do and places to go. Sounds like a therapy dog in the making! |
Sounds like Mats is the neighborhood meeter and greeter. I agree with Susan--you got yourself a therapy dog! |
He will be famous in your neighbourhood, being such a charmer! |
