Ive watched the DVD but it only shows westies and poodle cuts, not much help really. I opened the clippers this morning to have a look at them and the big clipper has attachable blades from size 1 - 8 Which blade would i use to cut bloo close short and which to use if i want to keep it longest? I would never want bloo shaved to the skin, so im worried ill use the wrong size that would be the worst nightmare ever... Bloo has shows coming up so i am not tackling him any time soon, but i was just wondering for in the future. THANKYOU! sam xx |

On your main clipper are the blades remivable, push a switch and slide the blade off? What size blade is it? There is all soerts of attachment combs. Do you remember the ones i used how they clipped on? With them i can get a cut of 2" and there not that expensive. Or are they small black ones? Depending on what blade came with your clippers, if its ones that you have to unscrew i may have a couple of blades you can have. But if yo just pull the blade off then try www.technogroom.co.uk they do both cheep blades and good blades. And the attachment combs. Remember go with the way the hair grows otherwise it will cut it half as short x |
They are push on ones, like a hard black plastic. The main clipper has a lever too that you can push up or down to adjust the trim?? The smallest attachment is size one, then they get bigger up to size 8. They all have different inches on them.... I ont know which one is best? It came with a miniture battery clipper too with 2 attachable blades. I slid one on, and cant pull it off Im not good with technology It also came with blade oil and a little brush???? Help needed lol |
This is the clippers i got, but i got 8 attachment head and not 4. http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=wahl+d ... s:12,i:124 |
Ive just had a root around and i found a set of them clippers in my drawer. The combs you have with them wont give you much length. You cant change the blades. I tried to use them with attachment combs but the wahl stainless steel clip on ones wont clip on, but the andis magnetic ones http://www.groomerssupplies.com/index.p ... l&pid=1095 Stayed on but your blade is more narrow leaving a gap at the sides. Ill find some unsuspecting dog and try them out tomorrow and see if they clog up or not. I wish you had said you were after clippers when i met you, i just sold 5 sets of clippers If its any help to give you support your welcome to come down and clip him here yourself, and ill be on hand for any advice or you can borrow my comb attachments or clippers too xx |
If your going to show him you cannot clip his coat is one thing. You need to clip his bum area also where his pads are ( Feet ) |
That is a multi cut clipper and the attachments are combs. To be able to use combs Bloo cannot have mats and must be brushed out very well. The adjustment on the clipper is minimal at best. This is the type clipper I use on my DH for his hair cut, but I've never been able to get it through any of the dogs' coats. You'll be using the largest comb in the set. If you use the clipper without combs and use the thumb adjust, get the cutting edge out as far as possible and realize it's still super, super short. The type clipper I use is where the clipper heads, metal part, is interchangable. |
It was just a little gift so i could give them ago and try it. Later on ill get a proper good pair, once ive learnt lol. Aww Karen! Maybe next time we come up i can give it a shot!? I was messing with it yesterday, and slid one comb on the end of the blade. (They have 2 holes on either side that when on clipper grips it) But i cant pull it off! :p oops...Why does it come with 8 combs if they wont pull off?! parwaz im not planning on doing anything to his coat till after the show. I need to trim inbetween the feet pads as they are hairy, and tidy his feet up. I hope it doesnt rain on the 6th, or else bloo will be black again. Weve got lots of powder chalks and shampoos etc...Im all set! Thanks for all the help, im just thinking how will a size 8 comb even cut through a lab never mind a sheepie, the comb is huge!! And whats the difference between metal combs n my plasticy ones??? Thanks llts sam xxxxx |
I've never seen metal combs. to remove them, you pull a bit.....look at one, see the slide that gives you a little extra oomph? Make sure your thumb adjustment is all the way back for shortest cut. Yeah, they were a gift, I remember now. Good for underpaw trimming...no combs. Don't mess with the rest until after the shows. |
