How do you know that the bird wasnt a ninja assasin and she just saved your life? |

Chowder did that at about 4 months on one of those "I'm not fully house trained" 5am walks. I crawled back into bed, whispered to Bennii "She killed a bird" in a sad voice. He asked if it was really dead and I had to reply yes. The first time it was able to fly away but than she got it again and it was dead. Good thing Brian taught her that death shake |
How does a dog catch a bird in the first place? |

Chap and I were on the porch when suddenly he jumped high ond off the porch as a bird was swooping down - about 5 feet above ground level - and he snatched the thing right out of the air. I yelled and he dropped the bird but it was too late, it was already dead. I was stunned. |
When Chowder was a young puppy we let her run off leash in a field surrounded by water across the street from our house. This one was flying low, right next to the ground and she chased it with her puppy hop/run. She is so gentle though that the first time is was alive and flew away, just still close to the ground, so she was able to get it again. |
