Welcome to the forum Alexia and congratulations on your new puppy! My daughter has a Havanese and he and my OES get along very well. She does not live at home-but she does bring Neyland over regularly. He holds his own with my bigger boys even though he is much smaller. I just brought a new puppy into our home--it took a few weeks for my big guys to warm up--but once they figured out he was here to stay--they are all getting along great now. You should be fine--just give them time to get to know each other and give them each their alone space when they need it. |
I echo what Karen said. Don't be upset if they don't seem to get along in the first several days. It can take some time to adjust. Our Mady was terrific with Gracie at first, then after a few days she seemed to be saying 'Are you serious? This annoying little thing is staying??'. Another week went by and now they play beautifully together, although I do have to remind Mady that Gracie is NOT her very own pet sheep. Congratulations on your puppy! Please post pictures! |
I will...once I figure it out how to post them! |
