Any tips, videos, things I should be cautious about? Can anyone suggest a good clipper (brands/models)? Thanks! |

I have and use this and get very good results. It's surely an entry level model, but it works. http://www.petedge.com/product/Andis-AGC-Single-Speed-Clipper/44075.uts Wait for others to chime in before you make your final choice though. Others will certainly have reasons for why the bought what they have. I know that I'd like a two speed model when I buy my next one. Vance |
We didn't have the luxury of groomers where we lived (atop a mountain) so took to scissor trimming. When we moved to a small town we discovered we could rent pet clippers!! The move here, "big city, " we thought, Ah Ha! Groomers!! After a few grooming bills we opted for our own clippers and back to doing it ourselves. |
I'm interested in the responses too. Eventually, I'm going to need some clippers. |
I think I'm going to go with this one: http://www.petedge.com/product/Andis-Pl ... /43014.uts I'm a sucker for a good deal and this one was $180 at my local pet store and I still had to buy the #7 blade ($30) which comes free with purchase from this website!! I have been warned about burns due to the device heating up and also have been told to pay special attention around areas such as joints, and under the arms. I think it will be a learning experience and will take a few times to get used to the equipment for sure, I just hope I dont hurt the fella. |
Andis agv are great also moser switch blades. Add a #3fc blade to toy collection if possible. As for burns your hands are never far away from your clippers just keep putting the plade on your hand to see how hot they are! Lots if oil an dip the blade in blade wash when your finish and oil before you put them away. When your using them use a toothbrush to keep the teeth clear. Happy clipping x |
