| I've often wondered what song we'll use when (or if!) the time comes that my son makes his gf his wife. There are plenty of songs to choose from for dad/daughter dances, but not so many for mom/son. I've always loved Celine Dion's Because You Loved Me, and right now that would be my first choice - although I know as sure as I'm sitting here that I wouldn't get 8 bars into it without bawling my eyes out! |
| Oh thank you, all good ones. I'm not familiar with the Joni Mitchell song but I love her. And Celine is another good choice too. Another suggestion today was "the man that you've become" by Molly Pascutti(sp). Surely, one of these will be "IT". Thank you so much  |

When my son was in grade 7, one of the students stood up at year end ceremonies and sang Because you loved me to all the staff that had guided her throughout her years at the school - don't think there was a dry eye in the house. | When my son Nicholas got married, he wouldn't tell me which song he chose for the mother/son dance. When it was time, he picked 'In my Life' by the Beatles...Although I love the lyics, it was very hard for me to dance to the harpsicord solo.....  ....but the song says it all...to me anyway~~~~~  I am sure whatever is decided, you wil never forget that moment!  |

Ron, I'm surprised you didn't suggest "Baby Got Back"  Every Breath You Take is so.... Creepy. I just retired from professional wedding photography (ugh, who needs those hours) and I can tell you, I have heard some crazy stuff played during the dances |
A few years ago so friends of mine got married and the Mother and Son danced to "It should have been me" by Ray Charles. Now that was a little odd!  |
| Sting (of The Police) said "Every Breath You Take" is a song about a stalker, but lots of ladies don't realize it and have it played at their wedding! So I'd stay away from that one. |
