To this: To finally this: Then this morning, we made a trip South a bit. We arrived at the Ohio Army Reserve Armory in Lebanon, OH about midway through the registration window and got number 21. The highest number that we saw was 68. In this small armory, that was a pretty good number. And I swear, most of those who were there seemed to be French Bulldogs! There were seven that I counted and then I lost interest as it was a bit overwhelming. One other thing I did notice was that in all the dogs there, there were no Cockers. To me, that was a bit odd. One of the other entrants was one of our Conformation instructors who was there with one of her Schnauzers. Also there was one of our classmates with one of her beautiful Golden Retriever puppies. Back to the event itself... We, or I should say Caitlyn won First in Class and Best in Breed. Then she went on to win First in Group 1!!! This was the second time that we got to Group, but the first win. We were both pretty happy. Caitlyn got a new stuffie that she absolutely loves. And of course, winning Group 1 means going into the ring for BEST IN MATCH!!! OK, now we're REALLY excited! When I say we, I really mean me. Caitlyn seemed to not really notice. In the end, a Pomeranian puppy ended up with the big ribbon and a pretty cool cookie jar stuffed with doggie goodies. But it's all good in my mind. Caitlyn got three more runs in the ring and exposed to more dogs and that's what puppy matches are really all about. Oh, and the fellow Conformation class student with the GR also got into BIM with us. So we had a familiar face in the ring with us. Here's what we got to show for our efforts for today: And here's our little scamp waiting for her last run in the ring. Does she look relaxed, or what? Vance |

Great Job. She clearly needed a bath before going in the ring, but she cleans up beautifully. Nice ribbons and a new stuffie on top of that. Who could ask for a better day. |
