"Puppy". Perhaps I should work on this project a bit.... "Puppy is coming". "I'll just check the calendar and count the days one more time. Nope, still a week and half til I have the puppy. Dang." Seriously, do some work Roz. "There have to be new posts and photos on OES.org by now, I'll just take a quick peep, and then I'm going to work." Ok, I'll at least start my design suite. But that's going to take awhile, right? Sooo.... "Puppy. Maybe I should go by Petco on the way home and pick up some more toys. She needs toys. And treats right? And maybe some hair bows." Kill me now, my deadline is not getting further away. But the only deadline I care about? You got it.... Puppy Day. |

LOL, I understand your pain. It was 2 months ago when Bond came home. I think I drove Kristine NUTS asking when he can come (my Chewie is from her also, and Chewie's sister Macy is Bond's mom). I was out there at their house (6 hour drive away) in December for an agility trial for 4 days, so at least I got to snuggle, hug, kiss and give him his 1st bath!! .....but then had to go home WITHOUT him and wait 4 more WEEKS! Yep, waiting seriously sucks! |
Ha, I'm really missing my girls today. I can't wait to get home to them. Being away from my sheepdogs is almost intolerable. Just wait until you get your puppy then you'll start suffering serious separation anxiety! |
We had to drive three hours for that last bit of our wait... Good thing I have a condition known as 'hot rodder's foot'. I made the trip in a little over two hours. Then I realized I still had to wait that last 30 minutes in the motel parking lot... aarrrrggggghhhhhhhhhhh. Its all good as it was SOOOOOO worth the wait!! We'd do it again in heartbeat... a puppy heartbeat! Roz, we've all been there so we all know your pain. Vance |
Imagine how our puppy people down here are feeling? They get their girl on Easter Sunday I am going up with Cathy on the Saturday before to evaulate the litter & bring her home. They will have waited almost 16 months |

They will have waited almost 16 months I couldn't do 16 months. I have barely been able to do 2.5 months. Really, I didn't know it until now, but I actually have been waiting for this forever. I just didn't know that an OES was the dog for me, until I met one up close and personal. |
I know exactly how you feel! I work to deadlines too--and it doesn't get any better when they get here! I was totally worthless for the first month as far as work was concerned Doing a little better now to try to focus and get something constructive done for work but... I still take a lot of puppy breaks! |

Several things - she wanted him to be 12 weeks, have more time with his littermates and mom, the sire's owners weren't able to come down and see the litter until then, and Kristine was just enjoying them all! |
6 months and 3 1/2 hr drive of waiting. Oh the suspense. I know all too well how it feels. Emotional roller coaster! Then you can finally say YAY |
I can't imagine waiting two and a half months, just waiting until Monday seems like forever to me! |
Roz I feel your pain and also had a chuckle at your first post. (You are so me!) Yup, I'd be like that too and I was ,several years ago, when awaiting response from numerous people out there when I was in search of a pup. I wish I lived closer as I'd gladly "lend" you one of my boys and rejoice in my freedom...cough cough...I mean of course I love them dearly but just remember once you get your baby home...they are Velcro dogs. Something as simple as going to the bathroom without a furkid trying to barge in is going to be a thing of the past. Kinda like upright kids in many ways ...they bring such joy! Here's hoping you get that call soon! Hang in there! |
The waiting may suck but I suggest you get some sleep NOW....You will be up ALOT when puppy comes home! Get some sleep and castch up on your work...I'll be saying "told you so" in a few weeks after his arrival! |
This made me smile because I so so so so so remember this... My lack of patience and total excitement actually led me to Pru...(she was from a different litter than we originally were getting a puppy)....so I have no words of wisdom other than it is SO worth it!! |
T-Minus 4 days and counting.... I am going to have to take some Unisom or something, because I'm not sleeping. Though I am so tired and the "Mondays" are so bad today that I can't imagine I won't collapse when I get home. Best part of this weekend - watching my hubby at Petco, picking things out for her. "Excuse me, where are the hair ribbons?" Yeah. |
