But I have a feeling my boy is going to be a natural. |

That's awesome! Do they usually have to be taught to herd? Wondering, because I live in the land of livestock down here, and I think it would be fun to offer that opportunity to my dog some day. |
Instinct is always there, just needs to be refined/tuned and taught to use for good. Much like my superpowers... Vance |
... and teach me what I am to do |
Congrats and have fun!! |
If your dog has herding instinct and a strong drive, you will mainly need to teach how to direct that drive, and how to communicate with your dog, how to communicate what you want the dog to do. |

LOL, and trust me, it ends up being WAY more of a project than David's neat and tidy description suggests....right David? ... I seem to remember some video with you about losing your pants and falling...right?? |
Haha, I didn't intend to mean it was easy!!! Most of the time I feel like a complete idiot, Mady's the expert, and she gets frustrated with me giving her contradictory instructions, and she ends up standing there and barking at me saying "GAH WHAT DO YOU WANT????" |
Good for Langley! Keep us posted on how it goes! |
How exciting! It really is one of the most enjoyable things that we have ever done with Mady. And I wish I could find the link to the thread where David falls down and gets trampled by sheep.... |
Langley's littermate Ollie earned his herding certificate no problem.... follow the link to see the post and pics Good luck to you and my baby Langley! viewtopic.php?f=16&t=26010&p=358223&hilit=herding#p358223 |
OH Ollie is so sweet. I hope Langley does as well. |
