Teddy's 1st point picture

Teddy got his first point at the show in Auburn, IN a few weeks ago on March 10th at 14 month old. I was thrilled of course! I got the picture in the mail today.

I'm not so thrilled about this picture though. I don't really like the angle of how it was taken. It's like the camera is pointing up or maybe it's just the way I'm smiling and I look like I'm drunk!.....lol

You don't look drunk, you look happy, and Teddy looks marvelous!
Teddy looks fantastic. You don't look drunk but it is an odd angle for both you and the judge.

No matter, it is a wonderful keepsake.
You don't look drunk at all--just very proud! Teddy looks great! Congrats! :clappurple:
The angle was great for Teddy, not so much for the taller humans.
Yay Teddy!!! :clappurple: :clappurple:
The angle is odd but you both look great. Beside that nice big blue ribbon makes everything look perfect.
You both look great! :)
First of many more to come no doubt!!! Congrats to the both of you!

Vance, Jen, Zoey and Caitlyn
Great pic also do you trim the hair under the tummy ? Have you any more pics
Nice picture Cindy. Remember, it's the picture of the dog you want to look the best. Nice if the humans look good too but they play 2nd fiddle in the picture. One thing I alway do is get rid of my lead for the picture. I put my right hand under the top of the choke. That way I can control the position of the head & neck more & the choke isn't showing in the picture. But this is stuff you learn with time. And the best part about pictures is comparing the 1st point picture with the finishing picture to see how much improved the dog (& maybe the humans too) look over that time span.

José's 1st point

José's picture 2 weeks after finishing his title. (17 months & 10 broken majors later ARGHHHHH!)

And probably the most dramatic changes: Mariah's 1st 2 points at 1 year 2 months of age (now you see why we called her our ugly duckling  )

Mariah's picture 2 months after finishing 1 year later (that turned into a swan  )

And 6-1/2 years later at the national.
I love the 1st and last photo idea!!

Let me dig.... :lmt:

1st point - LeAnne (daughter) started out showing him.

1st major -

and the last time LeAnne showed him...pregnant with their 2nd child (William!) at Nationals in MI -

even Bre (granddaughter) showed him at age 5 -

switched to me

UKC - Best in Show!

and final one - AKC Champion pic (sadly it was really windy for the picture...but good for showing, as he loves wind and showed really well!)
Thanks everyone for the compliments!

Marilyn, those are great suggestions and the pictures really help show the difference as they mature! I thought something didn't look right about Teddy's stack and Karen replied back to me that his back feet need to be a little farther back as he looks a little roached in the picture. As soon as I read that I went "that's it!" I had his feet a little farther back and the woman taking the picture said they were too far back. I shouldn't have moved them as much as I did.

Marilyn, did you say you were going to be at the Columbus show April 21st? It will be great to meet you there!

Cindy

P.S. Dawn, I was just ready to post my comment and saw your pictures. Those are great!
Cindy - for photos we always bring a "spotter" person with to assist. Their job is to check feet, coat, etc before the final "Click" of the camera! One of us who is not the handler takes that job - they carry the brushes, etc too and are responsible for getting them back to the grooming area again. That way the handler just has to focus on their dog...the most important part! :D

It won't help the human look any better (weird face, badly timed blinks  )...but the dog will look their best! :D

Karen was correct. If his feet had been back just a tad bit more it would have looked better. But these are things you learn as you go too.

And yes, I am planning on being in Columbus, both days. Just made my motel reservations. :D
