I have an acquaintance who recently rescued a sheepie. Unfortunately her older sheepie female is not accepting her and so she is looking to rehome her. The last I talked to her, it was going well and she was planning on keeping her, but I ran across this ad on craigslist today, so apparently things have changed. I have a year old old English sheepdog that I rescued from a shelter in Buffalo NY she is very sweet and Playful my other sheep dog does not like her I am asking a rehomeing fee. I would prefer her to go to sometime that has a lot of time to be with her she loves other animals very playful housebroken listens well and spayed if your interested please call me at 724-996-2020 I have pictures I can post later cxr3n-2919674210@comm.craigslist.org Anybody out there looking for a young female? |
|
Just a thought, she may need to contact who she got her from to see if they have a contract to return her Hope it all works out |
Good point. I will mention that to her. Thanks. |
yes if she got her from a rescue they will probably want the dog back to make sure she goes to a good home. |
any news..I am in southeast pa.. |
No news. I emailed her and asked about the rescue but she didn't respond. She knows about this site so maybe she'll check in here. |
We're interested!!!!!!!!!! |
kzinzer wrote: We're interested!!!!!!!!!! Again- this is not my dog. If you're interested, contact the email/phone number on the craigslist ad that I posted in the original post. I really hope this girl can find a home soon. From what I've heard she's a real sweetheart, the other, older sheepdog just won't accept her. |
I'll be calling tomorrow. Thanks for the lead. |
Ok... I think this is the same dog mentioned in the post below about a 1 yr old OES in NY. I just went back through my emails and she said the dog's name is Annie. |
Oooh... this pretty girl? viewtopic.php?f=13&t=36803 If the Erie County SPCA Northtowns Shelter will allow OES rescue to assist her, please suggest she talk with the NEOESR rescue contact or other OES rescue people in that state. Here's the NEOESR contact info- Tara Uhnak taraduhnak@aol.com 570-499-8947 New England OES Rescue,Inc. |
I spoke with Bobbie Sue and things are going better today with newbie Annie and resident OES Chelsea. Annie was the OES stray found in NY state late February and discussed here on the forum. Things might continue to go well, but I think the owner may still entertain rehoming Annie with a person with OES experience and who can offer a large, fenced yard. |
Thanks for posting my info, Jaci. I have contacted her, but haven't heard back yet. Annie sounds like a sweetie! |
Hi Tara. Thanks for writing to Bobbie Sue just in case she needs other options. Hopefully things will work out for this pretty girl. |
Well...I see Annie is back on craigslist Makes me kind of wonder if she's just trying to make a little money off of her. I would think if she wasn't looking for money she'd just take her back to the shelter in NY. Wish someone here could get her! |
Is this the PA ad that says she's moving soon and can't take the dog with her? It's hard on a dog when they're bounced around from home to home. Annie deserves to be in a forever home this time, one that matches her needs. Encourage Bobbie Sue to look up an online adoption application that rescues use in order to rehome her a little better. Or pass along this one- http://untilyoufindme.com/Rehoming-Your ... eepdog.htm I do hope she'll eventually contact Tara... |
The ad doesn't say anything about her moving, just that her other oes doesn't like her. It's on the Pittsburgh pets Craigslist. I haven't had contact w/ Bobbie Sue for a while, she didn't respond to my last email asking if the shelter would take her back. |
Oh, ok. It's a different ad then... the one I saw was in Greenfield. Thanks for trying to help Annie. |
http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/22619850 There is an Annie in rescue with Grannie Annie that was posted on Petfinder.. If this is the same Annie, then she will be very safe and certainly well cared for and trained.... |
Grannie Annie's Annie ( ) is just lovely. I think the Annie mentioned here came from the Erie County SPCA Northtowns Shelter... maybe Smileykyleigh84 can say for sure. viewtopic.php?f=13&t=36803 |
Yeah I'm pretty sure it's not the same Annie. |
I did contact Bobbi Sue again - same exact post. No response yet...although last time it took a few emails before she finally responded. Hopefully we, or someone, can get this girl into a better environment soon!! |
I might be interested in this girl. I have a brother/sister pair who are about 5 years old and have been looking for another younger one off and on. I would need some transportation help, though. Does anyone have a picture? Susan and sheepies Bear & Lucie sbaty@cinci.rr.com |
Jaci's pictures (4/16) are of Annie in PA, the pooch who may need a new home. |
Here's the original ad that smileykyleigh84 shared... Ask for current pictures, find out how much she's asking for Annie and whether she can help transport her to you. I hope it works out. |
What is the background story on her? I don't remember the old post. |
ariellehg- All we know for sure is that this dog was rescued from a shelter in NY and the rescuer's older female is not accepting her. I don't know any background information like when she was taken to the shelter or why, you'd have to call the number on the craigslist ad to find out. |
Annie was found as a stray in NY. She became eligible for adoption on 2/29 after no owner claimed her. She was bathed and shaved on 3/1. Her original posting was: http://www.yourspca.org/page.aspx?pid=423 She is about a year old. She is very active and loves to play. She has had a few family meet and greets- even went home for the weekend with a family. But she was very playful with their other dog to the point they needed to be separated. She was treated for kennel cough. Her weight is 101.2 pounds. The shelter has specified that the youngest family member be no younger than 7 years old. So, Bobbie Sue adopted her from the SPCA and took her to PA. Annie and Bobbie Sue's resident OES were having some adjustment problems. Things seemed better mid March when I spoke with Bobbie Sue. But there must still be issues if a current ad for rehoming is posted. |
Still interested in Annie, but haven't been able to find the pictures and got no response from a direct request on the CL listing. |
So apparently I have no idea what I'm talking about and I'm going to stay out of it Pretty sure the pics Jaci posted on 4/16 are, in fact, this Annie. Hope you get a response soon either way, Susan! |
SusanBaty wrote: Still interested in Annie, but haven't been able to find the pictures and got no response from a direct request on the CL listing. Did you email or call? That particular Craigslist ad may be long gone since it was originally shared here back on March 24... this particular ad may have been deleted, flagged or expired. (Check to see if you can still locate the ad and whether you received a notice that your email was undeliverable.) If you're serious about possibly getting this baby and haven't done it yet, call the telephone number in the ad that smileykyleigh84 shared. 724-996-2020 Not sure if this applies to your family but note the shelter's comment... there's likely a good reason for them to say, "the youngest family member be no younger than 7 years old." She's a very big girl at over 100 pounds. And it's always best to request all known information directly from the owner. Good luck! |
I have not called the number but my email was not returned undeliverable. My youngest is almost 5, but has been raised around my other OES who are both around 100 lb. I did have a third but he had to be put down in Nov. 2011, because of kidney failure. He weighed 125lbs. I will try the number tomorrow. |
I haven't had any luck, calling and/or emailing. No response =( |
The same here, no luck calling or emailing. The owner must not really want to rehome her very badly. Susan Bear Lucie |
Call me a cynic, but I get very nervous about CL dogs and mention of a "rehoming fee." To me it sounds like an old brood bitch or a brood bitch that didn't work out and they want one last shot of cash from the animal. |
