Gracie

I have been thinking about how to communicate this, how to express this: what I feel about Gracie.

Sadly all the pictures really can't capture all the silliness and sweetness of her personality, all the multitude of little things she does which are so funny, so sweet, so cute, and so Gracie. To be sitting in one room and watch Gracie trot by the doorway down the hall, then trot back by again this time carrying a bathmat, with a very deliberate focus, like she's on a mission. Or in the backyard having the wind blow the BBQ cover making it billowing up, scaring Gracie and making her stand and give it big girl guard barks for a minute. Or her required night-time routine of being picked up and plunked into bed, so she can run over to Kim hiding under the covers and paw at them until Kim gives her cuddles. Or when she really needs to go when I come home from work, I open the patio door, open the crate, she goes charging out and down the steps, but turns around and comes charging back in to give me some bum wiggles and excited twirls because she's so happy to see me, then goes charging back out again to go pee. Or how at only 4 months old, she already demands her daddy comes out and plays with her in the backyard and she whirlwinds around the backyard with a toy in her mouth while I "chase" her, but in reality just take a few steps towards her as she zooms. Or how she has commandeered my old bean bag chair as her own "dog bed", by far the largest "dog bed" we have, and how she'll come flying across the living room and leap into it. And how she really wants to be a "big girl" and takes offense when she's not treated like the big girls. Stay little my sweet baby for a while longer!

She is such a sweet cuddler. All these things I can't quite capture in the photos or even video I take. I wish I could show you all just how wonderful my little Gracie is! :hearts: :hearts: :hearts:

David, the love in your heart for Gracie and the wonderful things that make her special doesn't need to be put into pictures or video. You just put it beautifully into words.

The love that both you and Kim have for those girls is special and you know it because they return that love 10 fold.
I didn't think you could love another dog as much as you love Mady but you sure have shown how much love you have to go around. You both are great puppy parents.

Do keep the pictures coming tho.
:aww: :aww: :aww:
Hi,

Ilene and Michelle responded so beautifully I can't add to it but agree with what they both said. Your love is so apparent for your girls.

:hearts: :hearts: :hearts: The sweetness of a puppy worming it's way into your heart is a wonderful thing :hearts: :hearts: :hearts:

Todd and I both do the same with not-so-little Bond...he's just such a sweet and utterly loveable pup that you can't help but MELT... :hearts: :hearts:
Thank you for sharing. So sweet. What you said, I have experienced some of that at one time or another with my sheepies. Trying to explain to others who don't know is hard (co-workers that don't have dogs) but you just did it beautifully!!!!! :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple:

Lisa Frankie and Mattie
And here you worried and worried about getting another dog. Your heart just expands to take them all in.

The running in the yard with the toy in mouth as you chase(take a step toward) them...Simon still does that and I love it :hearts:
:aww: :aww: Your love for her oozes from your words! :hearts: :hearts:
Having sheepies certainly does bring out David's soft side! I must say that I too am surprised at just how much we love both Gracie and Virginia. When I was trying to make the decision about adding to our family, friends with kids kept reassuring me that your love does not get divided, it multiplies, and that you will find unique things about each 'kid' to enjoy find delightful. I just adore my little family!

I have the same love for Butchy and I had it for all the others, dread the day coming that I can no longer have one.
Just imagine what a great world this could be if everyone could love at that level.
Awww, such love!!! Thank you so much for sharing!!!

:hearts: :hearts:
Love is like pie. When another dog (or kid, or whatever) moves in, no ones elses slices get smaller - the pie just gets bigger :)
