It sould be hot more often

I made the mistake of wearing a sweatshirt to class last week and actually cut out early. I was tired and HOT(sweat rolling down my back). Simon was just plain old HOT.

This week I wore a t-shirt. Still hot but bearable.

Now as for Simon...the strangest thing has happened. Since its been so warm, he's slowing down 8O Some might not think this is a good thing but believe me it is. I actually have "time" to call out commands before he's over the next three obstacle's. I run with him instead of behind him. HE IS LISTENING TO ME!!!! :excited:

Maybe he's just growing up

If you want him even hotter and slower, grow out his coat!

Actually, that may have a part in this. He hasn't had a haircut for a while and he's gotten quite wooly. This coming Wednesday both are going in for puppy cuts.
We had the same problem last night. Frankie was so hot all he wanted to do was lay on the dirt floor. He wouldn't mind, didn't want to jump, and he definately didn't want to go in the tunnel.
Our facility isn't air conditioned I'm now wondering if I need to find another place for the summer.

Lisa Frankie and Mattie
We are outside all summer for our classes, so I really have to watch it. We focus our runs, and only work on bits and pieces on those really humid and hot evenings.
Should be interesting (not :( ) this summer, as I'm keeping more coat on hot boy Chewie than I normally would - my granddaughter plans on showing him this fall in Jr's at Nationals.....so he must have some hair!

His reaction to heat is the reason we couldn't even seriously train for agility until after he finished his CH and could lose most of the hair! :?
He loves agility, but heat is a game stopper totally for him. It actually is good, as he has enough sense to listen to his body and not go crazy in the heat....I never push it, as I figure he knows best!
Heat does not slow Harry down. We used to take a class on Sunday afternoons in the summer - and it is hot here! I would carry around a portable fan and place him in the shade with lots of water and the fan blowing on him between runs. Half the time he would move out away from the fan.

Personally I was dying while we were standing in the sun getting instruction even with my sun hat on.

My other two sheepdogs seemed to be bothered by the heat more than Harry is.
