prayers for Delilah
She is at the vet clinic for the night in Ft. Collins. Tomorrow will be transferred back to my vet. I caught her in pre bloat or gastric distention. Last night was a long night here. She just would not quit vomiting and i took her in today. I feel like if one more thing happens dog wise here... it's been along 3 months already.. This is my girl. The Grand Dam of the house. The girl i traveled the world with literally. She was the last OES from USA to go show at Crufts and she placed at that. She went BIS from the Open Bitch class. She has given me wonderful babies..... And lots of love... she deserves to have time to just be.... and enjoy life. I hate being put into the position that I have been put into this past year..... Ali |

Ali -- you know I love your beautiful Delilah!  I will be thinking positive thoughts. It sounds like you caught it early. . . I hope she is able to pull through. I just cannot will not believe that it is her time. It is not! Your Grand Dam deserves to rest easy in her retirement. She is such a sweet gentle creature and such a fine momma. She has to pull through. I am so sorry you are both going through this. |

| For those of you who have never met Heart's mommie, Dee~~I would like to tell you about her... She is the sweetest OES I have ever met and a great mom!! I had the honor of watching Dee (and Calie) when Ali went to a couple of shows around her with Checkers. Even after 3 years of not seeing Heart, she still took it upon herself to 'correct' Heart's bullying.. We were all sitting around just enjoying 5 sheepies, Heart was being, well, Heart~She was taunting Checkers and when Dee heard the rukus, she got up, and went right to Heart and did a motherly growl, NEVER snapped or lunged...but it was enough for Heart..she cried (which she NEVER does) and ran behind me for protection. THAT is the kind of mom Dee is!!!! NO nonsense...behave yourself, be polite. Dino would call Dee up to sit with him on the couch~~what a snugglebunny she is!! Dee has to get through this!!!! As everyone said..she needs time to enjoy her time here, she DESERVES it!!! All of us will be praying for her and sending the whitest light to all of you!!!! |

| Last night Dee went to the ER clinic for the night. Then back to the vet for the day. I had a call early this morning that she was doing better. She is eating and keeping food down. Just had another call from the vet. Dee is eating (nothing new there) and holding down all food and water. I will be going to get her and bringing her home tonight (YEAH) and then she may have to go back in again tomorrow for more fluids depending upon her bloodwork. THANK YOU ALL for your prayers and good thoughts i firmly believe they helped. I ALSO firmly believe that the problem that happened was with the dog food that i had switched to. They said she threw up some noodles. i said i had NOT fed any noodles.. we had just switched to a food that had 'shredded' chicken pieces in it. I put some of them in some water and they swelled up almost 3 times and looked like noodles. Needless to say it is all bagged up and going back to where i buy my food and i am returning to Mini Chunks. I've fed Iams/Euk for 30 years now and everytime i change something happens..... Stick with what works for you... |

Just catching up on the posts and glad Dee is doing well  I agree with you...If you are feeding a food that works for your dog, keep feeding it. Don't get lost in all the hype abut foods. Do what works for your dog! Hope things continue to improve.... |

| Thank you all so very much..... Your prayers, thought and white light really i do belive helped. The vets are totally stumped and amazed at how fast she 'bounced' back. They kept insisting that she had rigatoni like noodles. I said no. I kept a few of the pieces of shredded chicken and took them to the vet's with me. We placed them in a dish with water and THEY were amazed at how they swol up and looked like 'noodles'. My girl, is home.... giving Ricky and Lucy and Calypso instrucstions on the ways of life in the backyard! They are enjoying the wonderful weather, almost 80 outside. AND, back to IAMS Mini Chunks!! |
