Anyone near here to help? I am, but money poor. |
|
There was another thread about looking for fosters to help with 5 females and 1 male from the rescue group. I'm assuming this is where those poor pups are from since it has 5 females and 1 male... in the consignment section..... Places like this make my skin crawl.... |
Oh. I didn't see the other thread. Thinking about going, but I don't think I could stomach it. |
This sickens me....especially since they are located in Missouri..... |
There are various rescue groups involved and all are working to get on the same page. There will be people on the "inside" working to help these dogs. If anyone wants to help, contact area OES rescue groups and make a contribution. |
"We had over 1000 puppies last year" Speechless... |
I didn't read the link, but are these dog auctions like car auctions where dealers bring all the cars they don't want to sell or can't sell and so unload them at the auction (mainly to the shady corner lot dealers)? |
Just a note I HATE THESE PEOPLE but I am in maryland and cannot help. |
Wait WHAT? People auction off dogs? Seriously? That is just sick. So much for breakfast. That's like... selling slaves. That's how this strikes me for some reason. I hate these people. |
Does anyone know of a local rescue who is attending the auction that we can help out?? |
My husband said we can go and try to get at least 1 OES. Now if my heart can take it. I emailed the MOKAN OES rescue. I hope the know. |
Guys...take a deep breath and remember that if we BUY these dogs, all we're doing is telling the sellers that there's a market, right? There are apparently auctions in the midwest now that focus mainly on selling mill dogs directly to rescue groups (not OES, typically, lots of smaller breeds and other high demand dogs) - a great, captive and soft hearted market, now serving as puppy miller brokers. Ugh. Yes, I too feel bad for the dogs. But rescue being used in that way - really makes me ill. Some times, however, rescue groups manage to get them surrendered without resorting to buying them. Fingers crossed that there's a plan like that for these guys. It's not easy, but if they're not in high demand (older, large breed etc), it does happen. Kristine |

That's why I hope the local rescue gets back to me or if someone has a contact to please let them know. I know my amish neighbors had an auction, would not release the dogs and shot the ones that didn't sell. They are aware of the rescues and I think that many don't want to deal with them. |
Just emptying the cages... |

I will NEVER buy Amish anything again. My whole life I thought they were Godly people. The 'salt of the earth" type. I just saw this thread and i am so saddened to hear this. It's bad enough to think about all the kennel dogs. One can only pray that a few might be purchased by people who really want a pet and they can take care of them... |

Hoping these rescues can do the same! |
I know what plan I would have, Shoot the lot of them and let the puppies go for free also what i don't understand. USA great at most things but cannot sort out these puppy farmers or your name (puppy mills) |
