what age OES's black hair turned into grey?

Hello everybody.... I am new here I am Andrea and I am from Argentina. I own a sheepdod, called Gianluca, he is 6 months now, and he is still black & white... but he has little threads of grey hair on his back... he has poor hair in the belly and in the underarms is that ok? Sorry for the questions but it's my first OES...
Thanx in advance
Andrea from Argentina

Welcome! A 6 month old sheepie! What a joy...and a lot of work. But worth every second. Treasure each one!

I am certainly no expert on grooming, but I do know that each of my past 2 sheepies and my Guinevere have had different types of coats. I would say that each one is different, and that their puppy coats eventually turn into adult coats and all are different.

I am sure there are folks here who can give you much better advice on this as well as grooming. But they do need to be brushed and groomed on a weekly if not daily basis. And this can be a great bonding experience for both of you.

The black hair will definately become more wirey as Gianluca (what a cool name!) gets older. Just keep up with the brushing, watch for matts and give him back all the love he gives you!

Keep us posted!

Cheers!
Guinevere's Dad, Kevin Z.
The coat starts changing from black/white to silver/white at about 4 months and doesn't completely finish until the puppy is 8-9 months old. At least that is how Abbi was.
Abbi's coat changed from being soft and laying flat to the 2-layered adult coat between 6-9 months old. Abbi hurt her leg and the hair grew in black and then turned silver later.
There are no wrong hair types, enjoy your dog to the max!

I guess you are enjoying a nice spring.
Bienvenidos!
Cia!
