Just bought the tickets for the 9:45 pm show tonight! DH is appeasing me and going although he has made it clear he has NO interest in seeing this movie |
Soooo...did you like it? It is getting rave reviews! |
I can't wait to see it but I don't want to brave the lines so I'm going to wait for now... |
We are going tonight at 7:05!! So excited to see it. Hope it is somewhat as good as the books. We bought our tickets online, so hopefully no waiting in the long, long line |
You know, it was good... But the books were so great that the movie didn't stand a chance (in hindsight) I'll still go see the next two movies when they come out though |
I never like movies as good as books. I am trying to talk hubby into going next weekend after the craze winds down a bit...I haven't been to the movies in...hmm...about 12 years!!! The last movie I saw at the theartre was The Sixth Sense! |
I liked it...a lot. So much more in book of course, but I'd recommend it. Rocky didn't know anything about it and loved it. |
We went and saw it Saturday. It was "okay" in my opinion. I know that when a movie from a book gets hyped as much as this one did, I'm going to be at least a tiny bit disappointed. I would say though, if you haven't read the book(s) and you go see this... you might not get the entire thing. It's just hard to freaking get all of that in a movie, especially when the book is written from Katniss's point of view, and you have access to her thoughts in the book - something they weren't able to handle well in the movie. |
I'll see it when Netflix sends it to my doorstep I take the girls to the movies. Wouldn't go just for myself. |
I haven't seen the movie or read the books. I will say, though, that my niece in LA (who works in the film industry) was very excited to see it. Got back from the show, and her response was (and I quote), "Meh." I've read a few reviews that said the hype is bigger than the film deserves. |

I was afraid of that - it's a great book series, but would be quite challenging to get all the info out in a movie. And I'm not a movie person at all, so likely wouldn't see it anyway. |
I liked it! Now...I never expect a movie to be as good as I imagjne or live rhe book in my head, but I took my 15 year old to the midnight premier and actually did not regret the lack of sleep ....which was great because ever since being tortured thru the first Twilight premier years ago...I have been shellshocked and apprehensive. This one was so much better and I think they did as good as expected for the book. I love that they intentionally assured it stayed at the audience age range the book was intended for. I can't wait to see tbe others because they should get better after learning missteps from tbis one. |
Finally, I too saw the movie. Made it to the end for shear stubbornness. Meaning, I was rather disappointed from the start. |
