Mars Brush replacement for Hindes?

I noticed Mars is making a new brush that looks like the discontinued Hindes brush.

Has anyone tried it?

No, but I'll have to check it out! :D Mars tend to be more expensive - did you see a price?

Crazy timing, as several of us were just talking about brushes, and the fact that Hindes brushes weren't available anymore LAST NIGHT at training class!
$10 and $11 at Groomer's Mall so not expensive at all.

I had to order a stripper and some clipper blades anyway, so I just ordered one.

Not a bad price.
It didn't look like there were any option in pin length like the Hindes. I liked that, as it was nice to have a couple pin lengths to use depending on coat type, condition and length.

Please report back when you get it and try it out! :D
Do let us know what the mars one is like, I havent found anything as good or as lasting as the Hindes and my Hindes are looking now well worn in need of replacement. Darn hindes for not making those pin brushes anymore. I still have one new one left and peed off you cant get them anymore

So be interesting to see if the mars one is just as good  :D

   Lisa, I have one brand new one too!! :high5: :high5:
I bought a bunch several years ago, and have this one hoarded away, still with it's plastic sleeve covering it. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
Ditto dawn mine is still in the covering too and so so precious   I had a friend and everytime she went to england would bring back a few for me now no more hindes  This one will only be used when the last pin falls out of the others
The Mars brush is nice. The pins are actually nicer than the Hindes as they are finished on the ends like the Chris Christensen brushes, not just cut off like Hindes. The large brush is slightly larger (1/2") than the Hindes making it a little heavier. Pins are longer than the Hindes.

But it is an aggressive brush. The pad is stiffer than almost all my brushes. The only brush I own that is more aggressive is the Scalpmaster.

I own a slew of high end brushes. They are great for the gentle coat care you do when you are showing. I wouldn't use the Mars on a dog I was showing, but I will use it on dogs in full coat. It seems to slide right through the coat and reduces the amount of brush strokes needed. This is defiantly a great brush for pets. It will reduce your brushing time significantly. It's gentle on their skin. And you can't beat the price.

Groomers Mall is great. Super fast and reasonable shipping, no tax, no additional fees.
Thanks for the review. I have a couple already with the long pins and a stiff pad.
I did like that site, haven't ever ordered from them, so good to know that they are good to work with. :D
Hindes brushes and combs are available in the UK via various pet stores and supermarkets. Have a search online, they are listed in many places.

Many of us have searched for a very long time over the last 5 years when Hindes disappeared from the market almost everywhere but most notably here in North America. As a result a number of the more diligent groomers here have had to adopt Madans as our pin brush of choice. (Truth be known they are certainly better than the last of the Hindes brushes and probably an equal for Hindes brushes of any vintage.) Nevertheless please provide links to UK sources and your information will be much appreciated and those vendors will certainly receive numerous orders.

Thanks and Cheers

Carl
I knew I could find my answer here... thought I ordered a Mars and it never came... so will go to groomer's mall as I need a different dematter... I've got one who doesn't much care to be brushed... he stays pretty short most of the time but mats creep up now and then... then my other is basically full coat but done showing.... thanks guys!!!
